The Technical University of Munich (TUM) is launching a new African‑German Center of Excellence: ENabling a JET through Renewable Energy, Governance, and Innovative Sustainable Entrepreneurship (ENERGISE).

The TUM ENERGISE Center conducts research and offers higher education to contribute to a just energy transition in South Africa. Funded by the DAAD, the TUM ENERGISE Center collaborates with four leading South African universities, including University of the Witwatersrand, University of Johannesburg, Tshwane University of Technology, and University of Venda. Through international cooperation, Living Labs, and support for early‑career researchers, ENERGISE contributes to developing the next generation of experts and decision‑makers for an inclusive, sustainable energy future.

Are you passionate about communicating and organizing impactful events? Do you care about sustainable development and making the world a better place? ENERGISE Center is looking for:

Project Coordinator m/f/d (50–100 %)

The position will be for two years, starting from 1 February 2026 (with the possibility of prolongation).

Your tasks include:
  • Independently organizing project events (e.g. Annual Research Symposium, Postdoctoral Workshop, Sustainable Business Model Competition, etc.)
  • Coordinating travel arrangements for international scholars and students (flights, accommodation, visas)
  • Independently organizing communication activities (website, newsletters, social media, visibility materials)
  • Supporting administrative processes including reporting, documentation, and ensuring compliance with DAAD funding requirements
  • Providing administrative and organizational support across various work packages of the ENERGISE project
Your profile:
  • ​Bachelor's degree or qualification in relevant fields would be desirable (e.g. event management, international relations, cultural studies, communications and media)
  • Relevant professional experience (minimum 1 year) in event management, international communication, or project coordination
  • Solid knowledge in the field of event management and communication (social media, website editing, and newsletter tools)
  • Proficient in written and verbal communication in English and German
  • Strong organizational and event‑management skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
