Are you a Process Engineer with a background in hydrometallurgy?

At European Tech Recruit, we are working alongside a highly innovative battery scale-up that is utilizing significant funding to carry out groundbreaking work on the reduction of battery waste through sustainable processes, helping them bring on board a Process Engineer to work on-site in northern Germany.

Responsibilities:

• Take responsibility for conducting hydrometallurgical recycling processes on the pilot line, with a focus on the purification of recycled materials.
• Operate systems and machinery within the pilot line environment.
• Plan, execute, document, and analyze experiments independently at a laboratory scale.
• Prepare presentations to share evaluation results, provide actionable recommendations, and propose innovative ideas for process optimization.
• Explore and pursue cutting-edge topics in hydrometallurgy and process engineering to drive process improvements.
• Contribute to the planning and implementation of the industrial production line.
• Manage projects and oversee the instruction and supervision of student employees and system operators.
• Collaborate closely with other departments to develop comprehensive solutions for a sustainable recycling process.

Qualifications:

• Hold a master’s degree and/or doctorate in chemistry, metallurgy, or process engineering.
• Have 1–3 years of industrial experience, preferably in operating process engineering plants or laboratory work.
• Possess knowledge in areas such as Li-ion battery recycling or inorganic processes like ion exchange, precipitation, or leaching (preferred).
• Demonstrate proficiency in documenting and evaluating tests and analyses.
• Have experience in project management and presenting findings in management-level presentations.
• Exhibit strong communication skills for effective collaboration within your team and across departments.
• Show interest in innovative work, developing new processes, and improving established research-tested processes.
• Are eager to actively contribute to the team and help shape and refine our processes.
• Possess excellent proficiency in both German and English.
