Job summary

NEXTCHEM seeks a Process Engineer (m/w/d) in Braunschweig to lead process engineering projects within the Engineering Department. You will develop plant concepts, prepare engineering calculations and PFDs, and coordinate with clients and multidisciplinary teams in an international environment.

The ideal candidate holds a university degree in Engineering or Chemical Engineering and 3–5 years of experience. Fluent English is required; German or Italian is a plus.

Qualifications

• University degree in Engineering or Chemical Engineering with several years of professional experience.
• 3–5 years of professional experience in process engineering and plant engineering.
• Proficiency in ASPEN Plus/HYSYS and HTRI; CFD knowledge is an advantage.
• Fluent English; German and/or Italian are an advantage; willingness to travel internationally.

Within the Engineering Department, we are looking for a Process Engineer (m/w/d) with strong technical expertise, excellent interpersonal skills, and the ability to build long‑term relationships with clients and stakeholders while delivering complex projects in a dynamic international environment. Main Activities and Responsibilities:

• Technical leadership and coordination of process engineering projects.
• Development of plant concepts and process engineering solutions.
• Preparation of engineering calculations, process flow diagrams (PFDs) and technical documentation.
• Analysis and optimization of processes, including participation in safety studies and 3D model reviews.
• Coordination with clients, partners, and multidisciplinary project teams.

Required Skills:

• University degree in Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or a comparable field, combined with several years of professional experience.
• Professional experience (3 to 5 years) in process engineering and industrial plant engineering.
• Professional knowledge of thermodynamics, fluid dynamics, and reaction engineering.
• Proficiency in ASPEN Plus/HYSYS and HTRI; CFD knowledge is an advantage
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and work independently within a team environment.
• Proficiency in MS Office and SAP.
• Fluent English; additional language skills (German and/or Italian) are an advantage.
• Willingness to travel internationally.
