The role involves pilot testing, troubleshooting, and delivering practical process solutions while ensuring compliance with KOVALUS standards.

Qualifikationen

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Chemical Engineering, Process Engineering, Food Engineering, Biotechnology, or related field.
• Minimum 7 years of experience in process engineering, process optimization, or continuous improvement environments.
• German (C2) and English (C2) proficiency, both written and spoken.

Aufgaben

• Provide technical expertise to support Europe-wide business development and customer meetings.
• Develop process concepts, mass balances, PFDs and system designs for membrane-based applications.
• Support proposal preparation by defining process requirements, equipment sizing and specifications.
• Coordinate pilot fleet availability, maintenance and deployment across Europe.
• Troubleshoot process performance issues and identify opportunities for optimization.

About The Role

KOVALUS is seeking an experienced Process Engineer to support our growing business across Europe. This role will work closely with our Sales, Engineering, Marketing, and Project Teams to deliver innovative process solutions for customers in the Dairy, Food, Beverage, Pharmaceutical, and Life Sciences industries.

The successful candidate will provide technical expertise throughout the project lifecycle, from process design and proposal development to pilot testing, troubleshooting, and process optimization. This position offers the opportunity to work with leading membrane technologies and contribute directly to business growth, customer success, and technical excellence across Europe.

Key Responsibilities

Technical Sales & Customer Support

• Provide technical expertise to support business development activities across Europe.
• Collaborate with Sales teams to identify customer needs and develop tailored process solutions.
• Participate in customer meetings, technical presentations, and application discussions.
• Conduct technical audits and process evaluations at customer sites.

Process Design & Engineering

• Develop process concepts, mass balances, PFDs, and system designs for membrane-based applications.
• Support proposal preparation by defining process requirements, equipment sizing, and technical specifications.
• Ensure all designs comply with KOVALUS standards and customer requirements.

Project & Operations Support

• Provide engineering support during project execution and commissioning phases.
• Troubleshoot process performance issues and identify improvement opportunities.
• Support optimization projects focused on increasing efficiency, productivity, and process reliability.
• Work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure successful project delivery.

Process Development & Innovation

• Conduct pilot trials and technical evaluations to validate process performance.
• Develop and maintain application expertise across key market segments.
• Research emerging technologies and industry developments to expand KOVALUS process knowledge.
• Contribute to continuous improvement of engineering tools, methodologies, and best practices.

Pilot Fleet Coordination

• Coordinate the availability, maintenance, and deployment of pilot equipment throughout Europe.
• Ensure pilot systems are maintained and operated according to company standards.

Qualifications

Required

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Chemical Engineering, Process Engineering, Food Engineering, Biotechnology, or a related field.
• Minimum 7 years of experience in process engineering, process optimization, or continuous improvement environments.
• Proven experience developing process solutions for industrial manufacturing applications.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously.
• Willingness to travel across Europe as required.

Language Requirements

• German (C2 level) and English (C2 level), both written and spoken.
• Additional European language proficiency is highly desirable.

Preferred Experience

• Membrane filtration technologies (UF, MF, NF, RO).
• Dairy, Food & Beverage, Pharmaceutical, Biotech, or Life Sciences industries.
• Pilot plant operation and process validation.
• Customer-facing engineering and technical sales support.
