About The Role

As our Principal AI Architect, you will act as a trusted advisor to our clients and a key contributor to our commercial growth, shaping AI opportunities from early‑stage discussions through to scalable delivery. This isn’t just about building models; it’s about architecting the future of how our clients operate. You will sit at the intersection of business value, cutting‑edge research (GenAI, Agents, MLOps), and robust software engineering.

What You’ll Do

• Architectural Leadership: Design and oversee the implementation of complex AI ecosystems, including advanced RAG architectures, multi‑agent systems, and event‑driven AI microservices.
• Commercial & Client Impact: Support sales and pre‑sales by shaping AI opportunities, contributing to proposals, and engaging in client discussions. Translate client needs into scalable solutions and guide them from concept to production, while developing reusable assets and capturing learnings.
• Strategic Advisory: Act as a high‑level consultant for C‑suite stakeholders, translating business challenges into technical AI roadmaps.
• Technical Excellence: Set the standard for AI engineering practices, from systematic LLM evaluation and “Agentic” workflows to robust MLOps/LLMOps pipelines.
• Innovation & Research: Stay ahead of the curve (diffusion models, multimodal UX, MCP) and develop reusable proprietary assets to accelerate client delivery.
• Governance & Ethics: Ensure all solutions meet the highest standards of AI safety and compliance, specifically regarding GDPR and the EU AI Act.
• Mentorship: Foster a culture of continuous learning, mentoring Senior AI Engineers and helping them bridge the gap between data science and production‑grade software.

Who We’re Looking For

• Academic Foundation: An advanced degree (M.Sc. or Ph.D.) in Mathematics, Physics, Computer Science, or a related quantitative field.
• Consulting Mindset & Commercial Acumen: Comfortable working with clients to shape ambiguous problems into clear solutions with a consulting mindset, supporting sales or proposals, and connecting technical decisions to business outcomes.
• Builder’s Soul: Deep, hands‑on experience in Python and cloud‑native environments (Azure, AWS, or GCP), with familiarity in Databricks, Microsoft Fabric, or Snowflake.
• Generative AI Mastery: Proven track record of moving GenAI projects beyond the “Chatbot” phase into complex, integrated production systems.
• Linguistic Fluency: German skills at a C1/C2 level are mandatory; fluency in English is also required.
• Cloud & DevOps Savvy: Expert knowledge of IaC, Docker, and CI/CD pipelines, believing that a model is only as good as its deployment.

Preferred Certifications & Skills

• Cloud Architect or Data Engineer Associates (e.g., DP‑600, AZ‑204, or AWS Pro).
• Experience with vector databases (Qdrant, Pinecone) and orchestration (LangChain, LlamaIndex).
• A background in professional consulting or agency environments.

Your complete compensation package will be discussed in detail during the recruitment process. Our salary model is designed to offer a range of levels based on three factors: skills, responsibilities, and impact.
