Pangea in Germany seeks an experienced PPA Originator to lead structuring, negotiation, and execution of corporate and utility PPAs across the German energy market, covering wind, solar, and emerging clean technologies.

You will build strategic relationships with developers, IPPs, utilities, and corporate off-takers, and manage end-to-end deal lifecycles while working with risk and trading to price power curves and GoOs, and track regulatory dynamics like EEG and CSRD.

We are seeking an experienced and drive-oriented PPA Originator to lead the structure, negotiation, and execution of Corporate and Utility Power Purchase Agreements (PPAs) across the German energy market.

In this role, you will sit at the intersection of renewable energy development, energy trading, and corporate sustainability goals. You will build and leverage strategic relationships with renewable energy developers, IPPs, utilities, and large commercial & industrial (C&I) consumers to structure tailored off-take solutions and route-to-market strategies for wind, solar, and emerging clean technologies.

Key Responsibilities

• Deal Sourcing & Structuring: Originate, structure, and negotiate physical and financial (virtual) PPAs, off-take structures, and route-to-market agreements tailored to the German market (EEG and subsidy-free assets).
• Relationship & Pipeline Management: Build and maintain a robust network of renewable energy developers, institutional investors, IPPs, corporate off-takers, and market counterparties across Germany.
• Transaction Execution: Lead end-to-end PPA deal lifecycles from initial contact, non-binding offer (NBO) term sheet drafting, through due diligence and final commercial negotiation, to financial close.
• Risk & Pricing Optimization: Collaborate closely with Quantitative Analytics, Risk, and Trading teams to price power curves, shape/profile risk, cannibalization effects, negative pricing exposure, and Guarantees of Origin (GoOs / Herkunftsnachweise).
• Regulatory & Market Intelligence: Stay ahead of German regulatory dynamics (e.g., EEG framework updates, BNetzA mandates, RED III implementation, corporate sustainability disclosures/CSRD) and assess their commercial impact on energy off-take structures.
• Commercial Strategy: Contribute to product development for innovative PPA structures, such as 24/7 carbon-free energy matching, hybrid asset off-takes (solar/wind + storage), and green hydrogen off-take agreements.

Requirements & Qualifications

• Experience: 3-6+ years of commercial experience in energy origination, renewable energy structuring, PPA advisory, or energy trading within the German or Central European power markets.
• Market Expertise: Deep understanding of the German power market structure, grid congestion/redispatch mechanics, negative price dynamics, power pricing models, and GoO mechanisms.
• Contracting Knowledge: Hands-on experience with standard energy contracting frameworks (EFET, ISDA) and specific corporate PPA contract structures (Pay-as-Produced, Baseload, As-Generated, Proxy Generation).
• Commercial Acumen: Strong financial modeling comprehension, risk assessment skills, and a proven track record of closed transactional volumes in the renewable sector.
• Languages: Native/Fluent German (essential for negotiations and regulatory review) and fluent English.
• Strong deal-closer with excellent negotiation and communication skills.
• Ability to translate complex risk metrics and financial structures into compelling commercial offerings for non-energy corporate clients.
• Highly analytical, comfortable handling complex datasets, power curves, and quantitative risk metrics.
• Self-starter with an entrepreneurial mindset and a strong professional network in the CEE/DACH energy space.
