Travel across Germany and abroad is required. The role includes training teammates, producing technical reports, and ensuring Government Furnished Equipment is properly managed. Ideal candidates have a high school diploma or equivalent, 2+ years in power systems maintenance, and fluency in English.

Qualifications

  • German driver’s license and US OF346 MV card or ability to obtain.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform physically demanding tasks.
  • Fluent in English (reading, writing, speaking). Travel to Germany and other countries required.

The OPMAS-E Power Systems Specialist works to properly performing scheduled and demand maintenance on different types of rectifiers, uninterruptible power supplies (UPS/USV), and station batteries for the U.S. Army 2nd Signal Brigade. The workload includes identification of possible failures, developing risk mitigation plan, and coordinate maintenance needed to monitor condition of rectifier systems and station batteries for deterioration or other threats. The schedule maintenance includes regular inspection of rectifiers, uninterruptible power supplies and batteries to include impedance and load testing. This position provides assistance and training to other team members as required or directed by the Senior Technician. The employee is responsible for all Government Furnished Equipment (GFE) in their possession or under their control. This position requires travel and overnight stays in Germany, and other countries.


Responsibilities


  • Perform organizational level repair maintenance through off-site General Support of supported equipment including disassembly, testing, fault isolation and piece part replacement. Perform static and dynamic operational testing, assembly and operational performance testing, and verification that repaired items meet or exceed original or design technical specifications.

  • Operates, utilizes, and provides support for OJT on applicable Test Measurement Diagnostic Equipment (TMDE) and ancillary equipment to assist and determine the health of the station and UPS/USV batteries systems.

  • Provide technical reports, data calls & other information pertaining to the work center.

  • Individual shall operate desk - top computer software to include Microsoft office tools, MS outlook (email), word processing, graphics, spreadsheets and other software programs used by the US Forces.

  • Required to assist in the daily and seasonal cleanup of assigned areas.

  • Responsible for all Government Furnished Equipment (GFE) in their possession or under their control.

  • Ability to perform the physical rigors as demanded in this position.

  • The individual must be able to manually lift up to 50lbs.


Qualifications


  • High School Graduate and/or a U.S. Technical Vocational school graduate in the applicable field or equivalent. A journeyman's certificate proving a satisfactory result as electrical machinery builder (Elektromaschinenbauer), or as Electrician (Elektriker or Elektroinstallateur), or as industrial electronics technician (Industrie-Elektroniker), or a career proving equivalent experience with a certificate is required.

  • Two (2) years of progressive experience in the field as outlined in the Job Description.

  • Knowledge of power condition equipment such as rectifier, uninterruptible power supplies, inverters and station batteries maintenance of communication facilities.

  • Possess or be able to obtain a German driver license and U.S. Government Motor Vehicle Operators Identification Card (OF346).

  • Ability to perform the physical rigors as demanded in this position.

  • The individual must be able to manually lift up to 50lbs

  • Fluency in reading, writing, and speaking English to include the ability to comprehend and interpret complex technical data.

  • This position requires travel and overnight stays in Germany and other countries.
