Ludwig-Maximilians-Universität München invites applications for a Postdoctoral Researcher in the Gene Center Munich's LAFUGA proteomics unit. The role centers on LC–MS/MS proteomics across translational projects with LMU and collaborators.

You will develop experimental strategies, analyze complex data in R, and contribute to manuscript preparation while exploring new methods in proteomics. A two-year position, with TV-L salary scales, and part-time option available.

Qualifikationen

• PhD in biochemistry, pharmaceutics, chemistry, biology or similar.
• Expert knowledge in basic protein biochemistry techniques (gel electrophoresis, Western blots).
• Expert knowledge in liquid chromatography–mass spectrometry (LC-MS/MS).
• Expert knowledge in data analysis of quantitative proteomics using R.
• Knowledge in bioinformatic analysis of large multi-omics datasets is advantageous.
• Excellent teamwork and ability to guide PhD students.
• Excellent written and spoken English; German would be an advantage.

About us:

The Laboratory for Functional Genome Analysis (LAFUGA) is an integrated technology platform within the Gene Center , consisting of the three research units Genomics, Proteomics and Model Organisms. For discovery proteomics the LAFUGA proteomics unit ( Fröhlich LAB ) uses state of the art instrumentation including nano-HPLC systems and high-resolution mass spectrometers.

Presently, the lab consists of 3 PhD students and one post-doctoral researcher and is equipped with several nano-LC-MS/MS systems (e.g. Q Exactive HF-X, tims-TOF-HT).

Your tasks and responsibilities:

The successful candidate will perform proteomic analyses across a spectrum of translational research projects and work closely with research groups at LMU and collaborating institutions. All projects rely on advanced LC–MS/MS‑based proteomics. Core responsibilities include developing experimental strategies, conducting data analysis, discussing findings with collaborators, and contributing substantially to manuscript preparation. In addition, the candidate is expected to support the development and implementation of new methodological approaches.

• Ph.D. in biochemistry, pharmaceutics, chemistry, biology or similar
• Expert knowledge in basic protein biochemistry techniques (e.g. gel electrophoresis, Western blots)
• Expert knowledge in liquid chromatography mass spectrometry
• Expert knowledge in data analysis of quantitative proteomics data using R
• Knowledge in the bioinformatic analysis of large multi-omics datasets is advantageous
• Excellent team working skills and the ability to guide and support PhD students
• Excellent written and spoken English language skills, German would be an advantage

Also possible in a part-time capacity.
