The position is located at the Institute for Nuclear Physics. The research focus lies on the structure of atomic nuclei, including experiments at the local tandem accelerator facility as well as at national and international research infrastructures (https://ikp.uni-koeln.de/groups/wimmer/join-us).

YOUR TASKS
  • Participation in the planning, preparation, and execution of nuclear physics experiments
  • Testing, characterization, and further development of novel detection systems
  • Analysis and interpretation of experimental data
  • Collaboration within international research teams and contribution to joint projects
  • Presentation of research results at scientific meetings and in publications
YOUR PROFILE
  • Completed scientific university degree (Master or equivalent) in physics
  • Strong interest in experimental nuclear physics and nuclear structure research
  • Experience with detector technologies or experimental methods is an advantage
  • Ability to work independently and in a team within an international research environment
  • Good communication skills and proficiency in English; German language skills are beneficial but not mandatory
