Nationwide Building Society is seeking a design-focused software engineer for the TMW technology team to translate business requirements into technical designs and drive delivery on the Oracle platform. You will work with stakeholders to break down requirements into technical stories and ensure resilient, scalable solutions.

The role supports hybrid working across the UK with two days in the office where possible, and offers opportunities to lead architecture discussions and design standards

Direct message the job poster from Nationwide Building Society We are looking for a design focussed software engineer for our TMW (The Mortgage Works) technology team, to help design, refine and code solutions against our Oracle platform. Working closely with business stakeholders, we're looking for someone who can take a lead on translating business requirements into technical designs, and breakdown into technical user stories. The Mortgage Works is Nationwide's Buy to Let mortgage provider. We're looking to develop "buy to let" mortgage applications and self-service systems of the future for both our landlords and brokers and need to help ensure they are developed at pace and are hosted on resilient and supported platforms. For this job you'll spend at least two days per week, or if part time you'll spend 40% of your working time, based at either our Bournemouth, Swindon or London office. • Oracle platforms and applications, and creation of database objects, packages and scripts using PL-SQL.
• Appropriate technology design approaches, such as UML and Entity Relationship Modelling.
• Ensuring appropriate controls and governance are followed when designing, building and maintaining our software platforms, to ensure the solutions are resilient, performant and secure.
• Producing technical designs, software development and packaging of software.
• Curating clear and high-quality written documentation, ensuring a high level of attention to detail.
• Ability to work across multiple simultaneous deliveries, whilst effectively managing stakeholder expectations.
