Summary

The production operator is assigned to a specific cell or work area on a production shift. He or she is responsible for the efficient operation of the production equipment and required to perform the duties listed below.

Responsibilities

• Operate production lines and load gaskets; package end products for shipment.
• Visually inspect product for quality assurance.
• Measure and record pipe dimensions as required.
• Follow SPC Charting to maintain pipe specifications with supervision.
• Move bundled pipe and assist in start-up activities and changeovers.
• Follow all operational and safety procedures; maintain a clean, safe, and orderly work area.
• Read and understand SOPs contained in the Operator Manual; report equipment malfunctions or unsafe conditions.
• Relieve and assist other operators as needed; work as a team with other personnel.

Qualifications

• No prior experience or training required.
• Education and/or Experience: No prior experience or training.
• Language Skills: Ability to read simple English words; print and speak simple sentences.
• Mathematical Skills: Basic arithmetic with money, weights, volume, and distance.
• Reasoning Ability: Ability to follow instructions and solve problems in concrete situations.
• Work Environment: Exposure to moving mechanical parts, extreme cold and heat, outdoor conditions; loud noise. Reasonable accommodations available.
