Danish Crown Foods in Oldenburg is seeking an Operational Buyer (m/f/d) to actively shape procurement, manage packaging, ingredients, PPE and service orders, and coordinate with production and other sites. A commercial vocational background and experience in purchasing, plus German and English language skills, are essential; SAP knowledge is an advantage.

Are you looking to actively shape procurement processes and make an important contribution to ensuring the smooth supply of our production? Do you enjoy working in a structured way, keeping track of inventory levels and material requirements, and collaborating closely with various departments? Then join us as an Operational Buyer (m/f/d) at our Oldenburg site!

What is the job about? You will join a local purchasing team of five based in Oldenburg, but you will also assist the other two locations (Dinklage and Schüttorf) during holiday periods. The local procurement team is part of a larger business unit that is currently undergoing a transformation to centralize procurement processes across the entire organization. Organizationally, you report to Danish Crown Foods central procurement function, specifically the BU Head of Procurement, Foods.

In the coming years we will transition to a matrix structure which will entail significant changes due to the standardization and optimization of workflows. This also means that English is essential, as we work across national borders.

Your Responsibilities:

• Manage the operational procurement of all packaging, ingredients, protective equipment and service orders.
• Take responsibility for demand planning and material scheduling for all packaging, ingredients, protective equipment and service orders.
• Support others to conduct inventory counts and stock checks to ensure a high level of inventory accuracy.
• Optimize inventory levels while balancing cost-efficient stock management with a reliable supply to production.
• Prepare reports and analyses for the department and identify opportunities for process and inventory optimization.
• Support and coordinate projects, such as new product launches and IT-related initiatives.
• Work closely with internal departments and external suppliers to continuously improve our purchasing and procurement processes.

Your Profile:

• Successfully completed commercial vocational training or similar background, e.g., in industrial business administration, wholesale and international trade management, or a comparable qualification.
• Ideally, initial professional experience in operational purchasing or materials planning, preferably within the food industry.
• Good knowledge of Microsoft Office, especially Excel. Experience with SAP R/3 or SAP S/4HANA is an advantage.
• A structured, independent, and detail-oriented working style, with the ability to maintain an overview in a dynamic environment.
• Strong teamwork and communication skills, combined with a solution-oriented mindset.
• Good written and spoken German as well as English skills.
