Terma Group seeks a Network Engineer to support EUMETSAT's multi-mission environments, adapting to growing IT demands while mitigating legacy system overhead.

The role is full-time, on-site in Darmstadt, Germany with a hybrid option allowing up to 3 remote days. You will join a dynamic team focused on secure flight operations data processing and robust network services.

Qualifikationen

• University degree or equivalent in a relevant discipline.
• Fluency in English required.
• 1-3 years of relevant experience or internships.
• Solid networking fundamentals (OSI, VLANs, IP, DNS/DHCP).
• Familiarity with Cisco CLI and network device interfaces.
• Experience with network monitoring tools (SolarWinds, Splunk, NetBrain).
• Understanding VPN tech and remote access troubleshooting.
• Structured documentation and ticketing experience.

We are looking for Network Engineer to support EUMETSAT´s multi-mission environments, adapting to growing IT demands while mitigating the risks of legacy system overhead.

Background:

The I2D Division where our team is operating, is at the heart of enabling seamless Flight Operations and satellite data processing. We are a dynamic team responsible for designing, maintaining, and securing the technological backbone that drives our mission forward.

You shall support:

• Routine system operations service;
• Hardware Maintenance service
• End-user requests;
• Installation and configuration of computer and storage solutions;
• Interface to hardware repair and COTS support maintenance providers.
• Monitoring and alerting

Skills and experiences

• University degree (or equivalent) in a relevant discipline
• Fluency in English
• 1-3 years of professional experience in this role, or an equivalent combination of education and applied internships.
• Basic understanding of networking concepts (OSI model, VLANs, IP addressing, routing, Wireless technologies, DNS/DHCP, ACLs etc.). IP allocation and DNS entries via the DNS/IPAM system.
• Familiarity with common network device interfaces (CLI on Cisco, web interfaces; SNMP-based tools).
• Basic understanding of the principles of ACI is desired, but not essential as in-house training on the dashboard can be provided.
• Experience using network monitoring platforms and log management tools. Such as but not exclusive to Solarwinds, Netbrain, OPS View and Splunk. To include additions/removal of new devices, generating reports upon request and NMS tuning.
• Ability to interpret alerts and log entries related to interface status, link health, and device availability.
• Understanding of VPN technologies and remote access troubleshooting.
• Structured documentation skills and experience with ticketing or change management systems.

Working Location

This is a full-time position to be in located on-site, at EUMETSAT’s premises in Darmstadt, Germany with an expected start date as soon as possible. Hybrid work is also allowed with up to 3 days remote from your German address, depending on the customer needs
