A prominent research institute in aerospace and energy is seeking a qualified candidate for a position focused on thermochemical fuel production. Responsibilities include designing components, developing plant concepts, and conducting experiments. Candidates must have a Master's or PhD in relevant fields and strong skills in high-temperature applications and numerical simulations. Excellent communication in German and English is essential. The role offers a competitive remuneration package based on qualifications.
The Institute of Future Fuels contributes to making renewable resources available and thus replacing fossil resources. We develop solutions for how hydrogen and fuels can be produced cost‑effectively on an industrial scale from the raw materials water, CO₂, and nitrogen using renewable energies.
In our international team, we are investigating thermochemical redox cycles for the production of synthesis gas, a tailor‑made mixture of H₂ and CO that serves as an important intermediate product for sustainable fuels. The processes use concentrated solar radiation to carry out endothermic reactions at high temperatures in receiver reactors. In order to make the process as efficient as possible, various chemical and physical processes and requirements must be taken into account. Optimizing such systems is correspondingly complex and requires an interdisciplinary approach. You will be part of exploratory research and development, in which innovative reactor concepts are investigated using models and experimentally tested and characterised in test stands.
Remuneration is up to the German TVöD EG 13 depending on qualifications and assigned tasks.
We look forward to getting to know you!
