ABB AG invites students and interns to join the R&D team to develop a distributed network benchmark for industrial cloud environments. You will conceptualize, analyze traffic patterns and QoS requirements, then define test cases and automation for cloud/internet scenarios.

The project includes building benchmark software and supporting others in benchmarking tasks. Fluent English is required; a background in cloud application development and LLM-based software development is beneficial.

Qualifikationen

• Pursuing studies in CS or communications engineering.
• Experience in software development and networks is desirable.
• Basic statistics knowledge is required; cloud/LLM development is a plus.

This includes:Conceptualization, analyzing the characteristic communication patterns and QoS requirements of distributed automation traffic as well as different infrastructure scenarios; based on this, define test cases and a methodology to analyze measurements and provide an automated assessment of a concrete cloud/internet situation.Development, implementing a benchmark software for the concept, including on-site front-end and cloud backend parts for users to execute tests, and to centrally collect the results.Execution, running benchmarks and supporting other users in benchmarking to build a benchmark data-set; evaluate the results of the automated assessment.Qualifications for the roleWe expect you to bring creativity, initiative, and result orientation to support driving our innovations toward new products and services.You have a study background in computer science or communication engineering. You bring experience in software development, communication networks, and basic statistical analysis.
