Job summary

Agilent Technologies is seeking an MSAT System Engineer M/F/D for Capillary Electrophoresis & Tapestation products in Germany. You will translate product innovations into scalable manufacturing solutions and manage cross-functional collaboration between R&D, Quality and Manufacturing.

Responsibilities include leading NPI industrialization, owning platform processes, and driving reliability and validation activities across the full lifecycle.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, Electrical Eng., or related field.
• Experience with design for manufacturability, DoE and FMEA is a plus.

• Act as central Global Operations technical interface in NPI and coordinate stakeholders.
• Lead transfer of new products from development into mass production.
• Apply Design-for-Excellence (DfX) across cost, manufacturability, quality and automation.

To strengthen our Global Operations MSAT team, we are looking for a MSAT System Engineer M/F/D for Capillary Electrophoresis & Tapestation Products responsible for optimized design and manufacturing of mechanical and mechatronics assemblies, modules, and complete products.

In this role, you will act as the technical liaison between R&D, Quality and Manufacturing, translating product innovation into scalable, high-performance manufacturing solutions for Agilent’s analytical instrumentation platforms. You will contribute to process industrialization, technology transfer, and platform standardization, while working in a global, cross-functional environment.

Key Responsibilities

NPI Leadership & Industrialization

• Act as central Global Operations technical interface in NPI, representing the manufacturing operations and coordinating stakeholders.
• Primary counterpart to R&D Technical Lead and business team.
• Lead the transfer of new products from development into mass production.
• Ensure application of Design-for-Excellence (DfX) across cost, manufacturability, quality, and automation.
• Collaborate with R&D on product development, validation, and manufacturability readiness.
• Influence design to ensure scalability, supply chain and process robustness, and manufacturability.
• Define system-level manufacturing concepts, test strategies, and industrialization approach.
• Lead prototype ramp, reliability validation, and evaluate launch readiness.

Technology Platform Engineering

• Own complete instruments, assemblies, and modules within the MSAT platform team.
• Serve as Technical Owner on critical & key platform technology processes across the full lifecycle, from development to obsolescence.
• Ensures Value Creation across cost, quality, reliability, delivery, supply robustness, and global product engineering strategy.
• Lead root cause investigations and systemic corrective actions for complex & cross-functional tech
• Establish risk-based qualification strategies and action plans for new step-function improvements.
• Contribute to platform-level process standards and best practices.
• Support development of scalable architectures for assembly, calibration, and testing.

Travel Requirements: Willingness to travel up to approximately 10% of the time.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical field.
• Relevant +4y experience in a comparable engineering role.
• Fluent German and strong English communication skills, both written and spoken.
• Proven strong project management and organizational skills, with the ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams.
• Solid understanding of complex technical systems and related development and manufacturing processes.
• Experience with technical drawings and CAD tools.
• Knowledge of engineering methods such as FMEA, DoE, DfX, Value Engineering (VE) or similar approaches is a plus.
• Ability to analyze complex technical challenges and develop practical, innovative solutions.
• Strong ownership mindset and readiness to take responsibility for technical decisions and project outcomes.
