Ideal candidates will have experience in IT and a relevant technical background. The position offers a hybrid working model, a relocation package, and various employee benefits, including a gym membership discount and 30 days of holiday.
At Serco, we are proud to support EUMETSAT, the European Organisation for the Exploitation of Meteorological Satellites, delivering mission-critical services that ensure the continuous operation, safety, and reliability of Europe’s meteorological satellite systems. Our partnership spans all stages of satellite missions, from ground segment management to real-time mission operations, enabling timely weather and climate data for millions across Europe and beyond.
As part of our long-standing partnership with EUMETSAT we have an exciting (and challenging) opening for a Mission Controller in Darmstadt.
Dynamic, energetic, highly motivated, resilient… if this describes you, then we want to hear from you.
When you join Serco, you become part of a vibrant, international network of space specialists across Europe. We are committed to diversity and inclusion. Supporting women in STEM and aerospace is a priority, which is why we proudly partner with Women in Aerospace Europe (WIA-E) to foster opportunities, visibility, and growth for women in the space industry.
As a Mission Controller, your work ensures the safety and success of satellite missions, providing continuity of service to users across Europe. Every command you execute, every anomaly you correct, contributes directly to the advancement of meteorological and space operations that impact millions.
Your mission is to operate, monitor, and maintain mission control systems, safeguarding the space segment and ground infrastructure. You will work collaboratively to ensure smooth operations while responding swiftly to challenges, making a real impact in the world of space exploration and weather observation.
Joining Serco isn’t just about the work, it’s about the experience. We know that moving for a role like this is a big step, so we make sure you’re supported every step of the way. From the moment you accept, we’ll take care of the details: a relocation allowance that includes your flight to Germany, transport from the airport, and a month of paid accommodation while you settle into your new home.
Once you’re here, you’ll enjoy a hybrid working model that gives you flexibility, plus a 30% discount on the Deutschland ticket to make exploring your new surroundings easy and affordable.
We’ll help you stay active with a gym membership discount and give you peace of mind with participation in pension and health schemes.
And because we believe in balance, you’ll have 30 days of holiday to recharge, reflect, and maybe even travel to some of Europe’s most inspiring destinations.
We will provide a shift allowance after successful training and certification.
This isn’t just a job—it’s a chance to build a career in space operations while enjoying a lifestyle that supports you every step of the way.
