Job description

Join a dynamic, international mobile gaming environment where legal expertise plays an essential role in supporting business operations and protecting digital products. As a Middle Legal Counsel, you will provide comprehensive legal support across commercial agreements, intellectual property, corporate compliance, and employment-related matters. You will work closely with internal teams and international partners to negotiate contracts, manage legal risks, and ensure regulatory compliance. A significant part of your role will involve protecting intellectual property rights across mobile gaming platforms and international markets. You will also oversee specific Ukrainian regulatory requirements, including Diia City residency, employee reservation procedures, and military registration obligations. This is an opportunity to take ownership of diverse legal matters, contribute to business decisions, and improve legal processes within a fully remote European team. Provide practical, business-oriented legal guidance across the organization's operations. Draft, review, negotiate, and manage service agreements, marketing and advertising contracts, licensing and publishing agreements, and non-disclosure agreements. Coordinate contract negotiations and amendments with international counterparties, including advertising networks, influencers, and user acquisition partners. Manage legal documentation for contractor relationships, including service agreements through Deel, Diia City gig contracts, amendments, and completion certificates. Ensure the proper assignment and transfer of intellectual property rights and prepare intra-group licensing agreements. Maintain the contract register and monitor contractual obligations, deadlines, and renewal dates. Support Diia City residency compliance, including monitoring regulatory requirements, preparing reports, and coordinating with auditors and government authorities. Manage procedures related to obtaining and maintaining critical enterprise status, employee reservation arrangements, and military registration in collaboration with HR. Monitor legislative developments concerning mobilization and employee reservation requirements, explaining their practical implications to the business and its teams. Oversee trademark registration and monitoring in Ukraine, the European Union, and the United States, while maintaining intellectual property records and protecting trade secrets. Protect mobile games against unauthorized copying by identifying infringements, preparing cease-and-desist notices, and submitting complaints to Google Play, the App Store, and Amazon Appstore, including through DMCA procedures. Handle incoming intellectual property claims from rights holders and application marketplaces, preparing appeals against game rejections or suspensions and providing evidence of ownership and usage rights. Monitor corporate compliance deadlines and obligations across group entities. Review and support the preparation of Privacy Policies and Terms of Use for mobile games.

Proven experience drafting, reviewing, and negotiating commercial agreements. Practical experience with Diia City regulations, including residency compliance, gig contracts, critical enterprise status, and employee reservation procedures. Experience in intellectual property law, particularly trademarks, software copyright, licensing, and infringement-related matters. English proficiency at B2 level or above, with the ability to draft contracts, manage legal correspondence, and negotiate amendments with international partners. The ability to explain legal risks in accessible language and recommend commercially practical solutions. Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to prioritize competing requests and meet deadlines. Independence, accountability, and confidence in managing legal matters with limited supervision.

Preferred: Experience in the gaming industry or with mobile applications, including an understanding of game publishing and advertising monetisation. Preferred: Familiarity with Google Play, App Store, and Amazon Appstore policies, as well as DMCA procedures. Preferred: Experience working with international jurisdictions, particularly Cyprus, the United Kingdom, and the United States. Preferred: Knowledge of GDPR and personal data protection principles. Preferred: Confident use of Notion and Google Workspace. Preferred: Experience using AI tools and workflow automation solutions, particularly n8n.
