A global leader in chemicals is seeking a Microbiologist – Research Scientist to join their Research & Development team in Stein, Germany. We are recruiting for one of our prestigious clients, a global leader in chemicals, for a Microbiologist – Research Scientist to join their Research & Development teams at their site in Stein (AG).

Assignment: Temporary contract from 01/02/2026 to 31/10/2026

In this role, you will contribute to complex biological studies and support scientific and operational projects aimed at advancing plant protection solutions. You will conduct experiments independently, ensure high‑quality data reporting, and collaborate closely with cross‑functional teams.

Responsibilities
  • Plan, schedule and independently execute laboratory, greenhouse and field experiments.
  • Collect, analyse and document data in compliance with internal and patent requirements.
  • Prepare detailed experiment records, technical reports, databases, tables and graphs.
  • Present and discuss results with supervisors and project teams.
  • Conduct specialised studies (mode of action, uptake, metabolism, application timing, activity profiling, etc.).
  • Work with biological materials under S2 biosafety conditions and perform sterile techniques.
  • Establish, optimise and further develop experimental methods.
  • Take responsibility for specific equipment, facilities or technical areas.
Profile & Skills
  • Background in horticulture, agronomy or biology (apprenticeship, BMS, BSc or equivalent technical training).
  • Experience with plants and plant diseases; knowledge in microbiology required.
  • Additional experience in molecular biology or microscopy is a plus.
  • Good command of German and English (B2 level or above).
  • Autonomous, well‑organised, quick to learn and able to adapt to shifting priorities.
  • Strong scientific understanding, good decision‑making skills and effective teamwork.
