Job Summary

As Engineering Manager for the Core Software and Data Management team at NetApp, you will lead a team focused on delivering solutions that meet customers' needs across engineered systems and cloud services. The CSDM team is responsible for a range of functions in ONTAP, NetApp’s cross‑platform data management and storage software. Areas include ONTAP filesystem, anti‑ransomware and encryption data management capabilities, core WAFL features and quality. You will direct a software development team that designs, develops, tests and owns the software lifecycle and impact planning, execution and delivery of parallel projects for NetApp customers.

Job Requirements

  • Lead and manage a team of engineers to deliver complex data management capabilities.
  • Create and influence strategy and deliver on execution.
  • Apply in‑depth knowledge to solve broad issues that are complex in scope and establish medium to long‑range plans.
  • Work effectively with staff to vice‑president level employees and staff across the organization.
  • Interface with customers and partners to resolve escalations with support teams.
  • Hire, mentor and develop engineering talent, fostering a culture of innovation, collaboration and continuous improvement.
  • Ensure the team adheres to best practices in software development, quality assurance and project management.
  • Drive adoption of new technologies and methodologies to improve efficiency and product quality.
  • Oversee resource allocation, project prioritization and timelines to ensure successful delivery.
  • Collaborate with senior leaders to align engineering efforts with business objectives.

Responsibilities

Education

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience.
