Job summary

Moffitt Cancer Center is seeking a Medical Technologist to join our clinical lab team in Florida. The candidate will receive, access, and process blood and other specimens, performing routine manual and automated tests in hematology and coagulation.

The ideal candidate holds a Florida state license in the listed specialties and has troubleshooting skills, problem solving ability, and strong attention to detail. Prior experience in clinical microbiology, serology, or chemistry is advantageous.

Qualifications

• Florida state license in the specialties of Hematology, Clinical Chemistry and Serology, Immunohematology and Microbiology is required.
• Three (3) years of experience as a Medical Technologist is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Receives, accessions and processes blood and a variety of other human source specimens for clinical analysis.
• Performs and reports results of routine manual and automated tests in the areas of hematology and coagulation.
• Follows established policies and procedures pertaining to quality control requirements and data acceptability.

Summary

Position Highlights:

• Performs and reports the results of laboratory tests in the areas of routine hematology, coagulation
• Performs basic referral lab ordering and paperwork.
• Performs quality control and assurance duties.

The IdealCandidate:

• Has Bachelor’s degree in Medical Technology.
• Has ability to problem solve and troubleshoot technical problems.
• Is knowledgeable of theory, testing principles, and instrumentation related to routine clinical laboratory procedures in the areas of hematology, coagulation, blood banking, microbiology and clinical chemistry.

Salary Range

$40.25 - $40.25

Salary ranges posted for this position represent the expected base pay range for the role. Actual compensation may vary based on location and a variety of job-related factors, including experience, skills, education, and internal equity among Team Members in similar positions.
