Medical Strategy Lead Osteoporosis – Monheim, Germany

To strengthen our Patient Impact team Germany, we are looking for a Medical Strategy Lead Osteoporosis, to be based in Monheim, Germany. This will be a fixed term position for 12 months with an option to extend.

About the role

The Medical Strategy Lead is the scientific expert leader and strategic partner in the therapeutic area osteoporosis who designs, shapes, and executes ambitious, differentiated, and cross-functionally integrated strategies to create truly meaningful change for patients.

Who you’ll work with

In this role, you are providing medical strategic direction to the Medical Affairs Teams, enabling successful execution of the medical components of the local strategic plans. You also provide strategic and scientific subject matter expertise to internal stakeholders (TA cross‐functional leaders and teams, within medical & across the organization). The Medical Strategy Lead Osteoporosis reports to the Medical Head Immunology Germany.

What you’ll do
  • Medical Strategy and engagement:
    • Accountable for development of the local strategic and tactical medical plan and the local key medical initiatives and deliverables (evidence generation plans & study concepts, medical stakeholders’ engagement & advocacy, scientific communication, and quality of care initiatives)
    • Works closely with the Field Medical Lead to ensure alignment on the implementation of disease area strategy, collect observations/insights to inform strategy and tactics and co‑create field materials
    • Fosters authentic peer scientific/medical engagement with key external experts, professional societies, payers, and patient that require high level of expertise for complex collaboration projects
    • Identifies data, education, and quality of care gaps and develops solutions to address these gaps and to improve patient care
    • Acts as key point of contact between country and EU/global Medical Affairs teams
  • People leadership responsibilities:
    • Development, coaching, mentoring & management of a Medical Solution Lead Osteoporosis (Medical Manager)
    • Lead, inspire, and model cooperative cross‑functional teamwork behaviors
Qualifications and skills
  • Master's Degree and Ph.D. (desirable) in Biomedical Sciences, Pharmacy, Medicine or equivalent area
  • Advancing Science – Advanced or proficient skills in Generating & Interpreting Evidence
  • Establishing trusted partnerships – Advanced or proficient skills in Networking & Partnering
  • Leadership & Strategy – Advanced or proficient skills in strategy setting & socializing, executing with excellence

  • Strong strategic acumen, good business acumen and anticipation of industry trends; Ability to critically analyze complex data
  • Mastery of therapeutic area & assets knowledge and ability to translate science into clinical patient value and business value
