Zusammenfassung

A public health laboratory in Rheinland-Pfalz is seeking a full-time Medical Doctor (Pathologist) to join its Pathological Anatomy service. The successful candidate will be responsible for reading anatomopathology files, ensuring the quality and safety of results, and participating in multidisciplinary meetings. Applicants should have a recognized diploma in specialized medicine and at least 2 years of experience in pathological diagnosis, along with strong communication skills in English and French.

The “Laboratoire national de santé” (Public Establishment) is recruiting a Medical Doctor (m / f) on a full‑time basis for permanent contract in the Pathological Anatomy service at the National Centre of Pathology.

About the Laboratoire national de santé

The LNS is a reputable public institution overseen by the Ministry of Health in Luxembourg. As a multidisciplinary institute, it houses various scientific departments, including medical biology, microbiology, forensic medicine, and health protection, along with hosting the National Center of Pathology and the National Center of Genetics.

The mission of the LNS is to develop analytical and scientific expertise related to the prevention, diagnosis and monitoring of human diseases and to ensure the role of a national control or reference laboratory as well as to carry out forensic tasks. The institution also contributes to the development, harmonization and promotion of technical laboratory methods in close collaboration with local and international analytical laboratories.

Within the scope of its responsibilities, the LNS is also leading research and teaching activities in collaboration with partners in Luxembourg and abroad.

With its modern infrastructure in line with the recent evolution of medical and analytical sciences, the LNS is an ambitious laboratory with innovative projects that increase its expertise in public health.

Main activities

Reporting to the Head of Department and Service, in an international and multicultural environment, you will be responsible for :

  • Reading anatomopathology files
  • Performing
  • Plan, prioritise and design experiments in consultation with specialists and / or scientists.
  • Ensuring quality, accuracy and safety of anatomopathology results.
  • Participating in multidisciplinary consultation meetings (RCP) / ”tumor boards”.
  • Participating in national and international working groups in your specialist fields.

Profile
  • Recognition of diploma in specialised medicine
  • Authorisation to practise in the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg
  • Specific multidisciplinary experience of at least 2 years in pathological diagnosis and interest in broadening the diagnostic spectrum (e.g. molecular pathology, nephropathology, dermatopathology, haematopathology, breast pathology, etc.)
  • Good knowledge of English and French. Knowledge of one of the following languages is considered an advantage : German and Luxembourgish.
  • Excellent internal and external communication skills
  • Sense of organization, responsibility and confidentiality
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Awareness of health and safety rules and compliance with laboratory procedures
