Jobbeschreibung
Mechanical Engineer/ Technician (m/f/d) Robotics

Permanent employee, Full-time· Germany, Munich (HQ)

About the role

We are looking for a motivated and skilled Hardware / Mechanical Engineer (m/f/d). As part of this team, you will contribute to both supporting existing robotic platforms and developing next-generation prototypes for high‑degree-of-freedom (high‑DOF) robotic systems. In this role, you will ensure reliable operation of our robotic systems, while also designing and implementing robust mechanisms that meet the demands of cutting‑edge applications. Success in this position requires a combination of technical expertise, hands‑on problem‑solving, and the ability to adapt in a fast‑paced, uncertain environment.

Your Responsibilities

  • Design and develop complex robotic mechanisms, ensuring high precision, reliability, and manufacturability (from drawing to finished part)

  • Create detailed CAD models, technical drawings, and assembly documentation for production

  • Prototype mechanical parts using 3D printing and workshop tools

  • Support assembly and integration of mechatronic systems, including basic electrical wiring and component installation

  • Conduct testing and commissioning of robotic systems and ensure smooth operation

  • Collaborate with cross‑functional teams (electrical, software, manufacturing) to ensure seamless system integration

  • Troubleshoot and resolve mechanical issues during development and production phases

  • Stay updated with emerging technologies and best practices in robotics and mechanical design

  • Work autonomously on open‑ended, evolving tasks

  • Proficiency in CAD software (SolidWorks preferred, knowledge of PDM systems is a plus)

  • Hands‑on experience with mechanical assembly, prototyping, and electrical wiring

  • Practical workshop skills: 3D printing, CNC machining, laser cutting, drill press

  • Strong knowledge of mechanical design principles (kinematics, dynamics, tolerances, manufacturability)

  • Comfortable working independently and in cross‑functional teams

  • Self‑motivated, reliable, and solution‑oriented mindset

  • Fluent in English; German or Chinese skills are a plus

  • Flexibility to travel occasionally for customer installations and support

Beneficial Skills

  • Experience in robotics, automation, or system integration

  • Knowledge of electronics, sensors, and camera systems (e.g., ZED, Intel RealSense)

  • Familiarity with technical standards and compliance in robotics/mechatronics

Your Profile

  • Degree or technical training in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, or related field

  • Strong problem‑solving and analytical thinking skills

  • Self‑driven with a passion for cutting‑edge robotics technology

  • Detail‑oriented with a focus on robust system design

  • Adaptable to a dynamic, fast‑paced development cycle
