The European Patent Office (EPO) seeks Patent Examiners specialised in vaping devices and tobacco processing to evaluate innovative technologies before they reach the public. You will assess novelty and patentability of inventions across consumer products and advanced tech.

Candidates should hold a Master’s degree in a technical field and demonstrate strong language skills (C1) in English, French, or German, with willingness to learn the other languages. A diverse, global environment awaits.

Technical Expertise

We are seeking candidates specialised in vaping devices and tobacco processing to evaluate innovative technologies relating to e-cigarettes.

Required Qualifications

• Master's degree (or equivalent/higher) covering one or more technical fields mentioned above
• Excellent knowledge (at least C1) of one of our official languages (English, French and German) and the ability to understand the other two; alternatively, excellent knowledge (at least C1) of English (in such cases, the willingness to learn the missing languages and to reach level B2 within a set time frame would be required)
• Citizenship of one of the member states of the European Patent Organisation
