Applied Materials in Heimstetten, Bavaria is seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer with a strong foundation in precision machining and GD&T to lead mechanical design projects from concept to product release.

You will develop manufacturable designs, perform tolerance stack analyses, create detailed CAD models and drawings, and collaborate with vendors and manufacturing teams to ensure quality and cost effectiveness.

Qualifikationen

  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in mechanical engineering or related field.
  • Minimum 5 years of combined practical and theoretical experience in mechanical design and manufacturing.
  • Strong expertise in precision machining and familiarity with a wide range of manufacturing processes including: Turning, milling, welding, electro‑erosion, polishing, etc.
  • Proven experience in design for manufacturability and cost optimization.
  • Excellent knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) and tolerance stack‑up.
  • Hands‑on experience in high‑tech manufacturing environments, preferably involving precision mechanics and diverse materials.
  • Demonstrated success in vendor collaboration and project completion to product release.
  • Fluent in English, with good proficiency in German.

About the Role:

We are seeking a highly skilled Mechanical Design Engineer (m/f/d) with a strong foundation in precision machining and design for manufacturability.
