Zusammenfassung

Applied Materials Europe is seeking a Junior Supplier Quality Engineer to drive supplier performance and lead qualification activities on site in Heimstetten, Germany. You will resolve quality issues and support continuous improvement initiatives while coordinating with multiple specialist departments.

The role requires a Bachelor’s or Master’s in Mechanical Engineering and 1–2 years of related experience, with strong German and English communication. Travel about 20% is expected.

Qualifikationen

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or comparable field.
  • 1–2 years of professional experience in special‑purpose machinery or equipment manufacturing.
  • Experience with supplier management and supplier qualification.
  • Knowledge of manufacturing engineering practices, techniques, and methodologies.
  • Confident handling of technical drawings and specifications.
  • Customer- and goal-oriented with strong responsibility.

Aufgaben

  • Select, qualify, and audit new and existing suppliers.
  • Support validation of suppliers’ series production capabilities ( SPC, test methods, parts management ).
  • Ensure reliable capacity and infrastructure for high‑volume production at the supplier.
  • Participate in procurement projects (dual sourcing, change management, capacity projects).
  • Lead product qualification process for critical modules.
  • Integrate into NPI development with engineering.
  • Support supplier quality control to improve product standards.

As a Junior Su pplier Quality Engineer, you will drive supplier performance, lead qualification activities, resolve quality issues, and support continuous improvement initiatives

Key responsibilities:
  • Selection, qualification, and auditing of new and existing suppliers
  • Support in validating suppliers’ series production capabilities (statistical process control, implementation of test methods, spare parts management)
  • Ensuring reliable capacity and infrastructure for high‑volume production at the supplier
  • Participation in operational and strategic procurement projects (dual sourcing, change management, capacity projects)
  • Execution and technical leadership of the product qualification process for critical modules
  • Integration into the NPI development process in close collaboration with the engineering department
  • Support of supplier quality control management to continuously improve product standards
Qualification and experience:
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a comparable field
  • 1-2 years of professional experience, preferably in special‑purpose machinery or equipment manufacturing
  • Experience with supplier management and supplier qualification
  • Knowledge of manufacturing engineering practices, techniques, and methodologies
  • Confident handling of technical drawings and specifications
  • Customer‑and goal‑oriented working style with a strong sense of responsibility
  • Flexibility and willingness to work in interdisciplinary teams
  • Enjoyment of working in a high‑performance team in close coordination with various specialist departments on site and within the group
  • Strong communication skills in German and English

The salary offered to a selected candidate will be based on multiple factors including location, hire grade, job‑related knowledge, skills, experience, and with consideration of internal equity of our current team members. In addition to a comprehensive benefits package, candidates may be eligible for other forms of compensation such as participation in a bonus and a stock award program, as applicable.

For all sales roles, the posted salary range is the Target Total Cash (TTC) range for the role, which is the sum of base salary and target bonus amount at 100% goal achievement.
