Omnisent GmbH, Munich-based defense technology company, is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to design and develop mechanical systems for OmniDome's sensors, interceptors, and enclosures from concept to field-ready hardware.

You will design structures, iterate CAD models, select rugged materials, and ensure manufacturability, collaborating with electronics and RF engineers to integrate full systems for harsh environments.

Formación

• Strong background in mechanical design and CAD tools.
• Experience designing for manufacturability and rugged, field-deployable hardware.
• Understanding of materials selection for outdoor and weatherproof applications.
• Comfortable working across the full hardware lifecycle, from concept to production.
• EU work authorization is required.

Responsabilidades

• Design mechanical structures and enclosures for sensors, interceptors, and other hardware components.
• Develop and iterate CAD models and technical drawings for new and existing hardware.
• Select materials and manufacturing processes suited for field-deployed, weather-resistant hardware.
• Design for manufacturability (DFM) and assembly (DFA), working closely with production and procurement.
• Support prototyping, testing, and iteration based on flight test and field deployment feedback.
• Collaborate closely with electronics, RF, and flight test engineers to integrate mechanical designs into full systems.

Founded in 2025, Omnisent is a Munich-based defense technology company developing fully autonomous, Counter-UAS system. We are a small, high-output team from Cambridge, Imperial College, MIT, and BCG united by a mission to redefine modern airspace security.

Aufgaben

We are looking for a Mechanical Engineer to design and develop the mechanical systems behind OmniDome's sensors, interceptors, and enclosures – from concept through field-ready hardware.

• Design mechanical structures and enclosures for sensors, interceptors, and other hardware components
• Develop and iterate on CAD models and technical drawings for new and existing hardware
• Select materials and manufacturing processes suited for field-deployed, weather-resistant hardware
• Design for manufacturability (DFM) and assembly (DFA), working closely with production and procurement
• Support prototyping, testing, and iteration based on flight test and field deployment feedback
• Collaborate closely with electronics, RF, and flight test engineers to integrate mechanical designs into full systems

Qualifikation

• Strong background in mechanical design and CAD (e.g., SolidWorks, Fusion 360, Onshape)
• Experience designing for manufacturability and for rugged, field-deployable hardware
• Understanding of materials selection for outdoor and weatherproof applications
• Comfortable working across the full hardware lifecycle, from concept to production
• EU work authorization

Bonus:

• Experience with drone, robotics, or aerospace mechanical design
• Experience with environmental hardening (IP-rating, MIL-STD-810, etc.)
• Background in defense or other high-reliability hardware industries
