RED Engineering Design is seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer for Germany, based in Frankfurt or Düsseldorf. The role involves leading small projects, coordinating mechanical and electrical services, and developing control systems for building services within a sustainability-focused consultancy.

The candidate should be fluent in German with English working proficiency, hold a degree, and be pursuing Chartered Engineer status.

Qualifications

• German language fluency is required; English working proficiency preferred.
• Diploma or degree qualified or equivalent experience.
• Working towards Chartered Eng status.
• Experience with design/drawings for at least one building type.
• Solid knowledge of health and safety issues and legislation.
• Proficiency with MS Office and Excel.
• Ability to use IT-based calculation and spreadsheet software.
• Familiarity with BS standards, international and German regulations/codes.
• Ability to prioritise own workload and meet deadlines.
• Managerial skills.

Responsibilities

• Run small projects: plan, coordinate and monitor mechanical or electrical installations and services.
• Develop and specify control, instrument, and operating systems for building services.
• Survey, test and report on existing installations.
• Prepare specification modifications.
• Ensure calculations and drawings meet standards and customer requirements.
• Represent company at technical meetings with clients and contractors.
• Support delivery through RED Project Delivery Process: PM, QA/QC, and technical review.

Mechanical Design Engineer - Germany (Dusseldorf or Frankfurt)

We now seek an Mechanical Design Engineer to be based out of one of our German offices (Frankfurt or Dusseldorf).

Role Responsibilities

• Responsible for the running of small projects. Researches, develops, designs and assumes responsibility for coordination and monitoring of engineering project services for Mechanical or Electrical installations, systems, equipment, facilities etc.
• Develops and specifies applications of controls, instruments, and operating systems for all building engineering services purposes
• Surveys tests and reports on existing electrical/mechanical installations
• Specifies activities to ensure that manufacturing, construction, installation, and operational testing confirm to functional specifications and customer requirements
• Represents Company at technical meetings with customers, professional teams and contractors teams
• Preparation of specification modifications (word or excel)
• Ensure engineering calculations and drawings meet required robust industry and legal standards
• Responsible for validation of Intermediate & Graduate Engineer input into designs
• Support the delivery of projects in accordance with the expectations of the RED Project Delivery Process from a Project Management, Financial Management, QA/QC and Technical Review perspective

Role Requirements

• Fluent German speaking and ideally fluent (professional working proficiency) in English
• Diploma or degree qualified or equivalent experience
• Working towards Chartered Eng status
• Experience of specification design/drawing for at least one building type
• Sound knowledge of key Health and Safety issues and legislation
• Knowledge of MS Office apple excel etc
• Ability to use IT based calculation and spreadsheet software
• Good understanding of bs standards/ international and German regulations/codes desirable
• Ability to prioritise own workloadAbility to work to deadlines
