A renowned medical research institution in Mainz is seeking motivated Master students to assist in research efforts in Experimental Ophthalmology. Responsibilities include sample preparation, data analysis, and participation in lab management. Ideal candidates hold a Bachelor's degree in Life Sciences, possess laboratory experience, and are proficient in English. This position offers comprehensive training in a collaborative, international environment but is unpaid. Starting date is immediate.
Our research team in the Experimental and Translational Ophthalmology Department at the University Medical Center of the Johannes Gutenberg University Mainz has extensive experience in basic research in the field of Ophthalmology. We are interested in understanding the underlying mechanisms leading to retinal and ocular surface diseases, such as Dry Eye Disease, AMD and Glaucoma. Unraveling pathways and identifying biomarkers will greatly contribute to a better understanding of disease onset and progression and the development of new diagnostic and therapeutic approaches.
Our laboratory is equipped with state-of-the-art proteomics and antigen/antibody microarray technologies, as well as comprehensive cell culture and biochemical assay facilities.
We are now looking for motivated Master students to join our international team and support our research efforts.
