Master Thesis in Physics or Materials Science – Memristor device fabrication and operando AFM characterization

Join us for a 1‑year Master Thesis project focused on the fabrication and advanced operando characterization of memristor devices.
Responsibilities
- Fabricate memristors using E‑beam lithography in the Helmholtz Nano Facility (HNF).
- Sputter sub‑stoichiometric oxide thin films specjal to complete the lateral memristor stack.
- Operate and program the memristors electrically.
- Perform operando electrical and morphological characterization using conductive atomic force microscopy (C‑AFM).
- Access and actively control advanced experimental setups.
Qualifications
- Completed qualification to enroll for a Master Thesis in Physics or Materials Sciences, with a strong academic track record.
- Willingness to familiarise yourself with new methods or scientific challenges.
- Interest in honorable nanoelectronics and surface science.
- Prior knowledge in lithography, surface or electrical characterization is desirable.
- High motivation, reliability and an analytical working style.
- Excellent ability to cooperate and work in a team.
- Fluent in English (written and spoken).
