Mercor is seeking a Marketing Expert on a contract basis to design precise grading criteria for marketing deliverables and to score AI-generated and human work samples against established criteria. The role requires independent, asynchronous work to meet deadlines while driving improvements in AI model performance.

Ideal candidates will have 5+ years in marketing or advertising, with senior-level experience in creative direction or brand strategy, and exceptional written communication skills.

• 5+ years of professional experience in marketing or advertising.
• Experience as creative director, account lead, or brand strategist at top-tier agencies or in senior brand marketing roles.
• Strong written communication and ability to evaluate briefs, campaigns and brand messaging.
• Detail-oriented and comfortable having judgments reviewed and calibrated by peers.
• Preferred: prior AI training, evaluation, or human-data projects.

Position: Marketing Expert
Type: Contract
Compensation: $80–$150/hour
Location: Remote

Responsibilities

• Design precise, task-specific grading criteria for real-world marketing deliverables such as creative briefs, campaign concepts, and brand positioning frameworks.
• Score AI-generated and human work samples against established criteria, providing detailed written justifications for every score.
• Apply consistent, evidence-based judgment to ensure scores are reproducible and defensible.
• Incorporate structured feedback from senior reviewers and iterate quickly on your work.
• Work independently and asynchronously to meet deadlines while improving AI model performance.

Qualifications

Must-Have

• 5+ years of professional experience in marketing or advertising.
• Background as a creative director, account lead, or brand strategist at top-tier global creative agencies, or in senior brand marketing roles at leading consumer companies.
• Deep fluency in writing and evaluating creative briefs, campaign development across channels, and brand positioning and messaging.
• Exceptionally strong written communication skills.
• Detail-oriented and comfortable having your judgment reviewed and calibrated against peers.

Preferred

• Prior experience with AI training, evaluation, or human-data projects.
