The Marketing Manager will work for Rattleback, and will be responsible for managing the marketing programs, digital channels, communications, and campaign execution for one of our top clients, a public/private research center. This role works with the center’s internal staff, university partners, external partners, and Rattleback to ensure the effective distribution of content, research releases, events, and outreach initiatives. This is a part-time, remote role estimated at 20 hours/week.

Primary Responsibilities
  • Manage marketing communications projects, timelines, budgets, content calendars, and publishing schedules; coordinate execution of digital marketing plans.
  • Maintain relationships with the center’s full-time staff (Managing Director and Program Manager), partners, interns, and others.
  • Assist in strategic planning for releases and events.
  • Manage podcast production and post-production.
  • Oversee publication of research reports, articles, and media mentions. Assist with press releases as part of research report marketing plans.
  • Collaborate on and oversee content strategy for the center’s social channels and email newsletter.
  • Use AI tools (e.g., Microsoft CoPilot or ChatGPT) to draft and refine social posts, email updates, and basic marketing content.
  • Manage email marketing campaigns using Mailchimp or comparable platforms.
  • Upload news items, partner logos, podcasts, events, and blog posts to the center’s website using WordPress or similar CMS.
  • Assist with analytics reporting using Google Analytics, Mailchimp, and Hootsuite.
Secondary Responsibilities
  • Support media outreach and event promotion.
  • Provide internal reporting on marketing program effectiveness.
Qualifications
  • 4-year degree in communications, marketing, or journalism
  • 2-5 years of related marketing experience
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office
  • Ability to work remotely 20 hours/week with strong self-management skills.
  • Experience managing multiple stakeholders, complex projects and budgets.
  • Proficient with CMS platforms, email marketing, social media publishing tools, Google Analytics, and project management tools such as Monday and Basecamp.
  • Strong writing and editing skills required.
