Job description

Mission Brief

Own manufacturing processes from introduction and industrialization through qualification, stabilization, and serial production. Ensure processes are repeatable, controlled, and ready to deliver at the required quality, rate, and cost, with particular focus on demonstrating readiness before release and sustaining stable performance during ramp-up.

Translate engineering requirements into production methods, equipment, documentation, and controls. Remain accountable for process performance, resolving early production issues and embedding improvements into standard practice.

Your Role in Our Space Mission:

  • Own assigned processes from introduction and qualification through stable production and continuous improvement.
  • Define process flows, critical parameters, tooling, equipment, work instructions, routings, and production controls; maintain these as processes mature.
  • Plan and execute process qualification: define acceptance criteria, process windows, qualification builds, and testing; document objective evidence demonstrating repeatability and readiness for production release.
  • Lead readiness reviews, pilot builds, and early production stabilization. Resolve process issues, confirm effective corrective actions, and establish consistent operating conditions before ramp-up.
  • Monitor yield, defects, and cycle time during ramp-up and serial production; investigate failures, implement lasting corrective actions, and verify sustained process stability.
  • Support PFMEA and Control Plans; validate engineering changes before release.
  • Partner with Production, Quality, Product Assurance, Design, Industrial Engineering, and Supply Chain.
  • Improve quality, repeatability, throughput, ergonomics, and cost.

Qualification Checklist

  • Relevant engineering degree and practical Manufacturing, Production, Process Engineering, or Industrialization experience.
  • Practical experience introducing, qualifying, and stabilizing manufacturing processes, including qualification planning, acceptance criteria, production trials, and documented release evidence.
  • Knowledge of PFMEA, Control Plans, root-cause analysis, corrective actions, and engineering change management.
  • Ability to interpret drawings, specifications, tolerances, and BOMs.
  • Hands-on shop-floor approach and strong cross-functional communication.
  • High-reliability manufacturing and PLM, ERP, or MES experience advantageous.
  • Professional English proficiency; German beneficial.
