Zusammenfassung

Clarios is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer Central (m/f/d) to lead projects for machinery and tooling in series production at its Hannover ME HQ. You will drive specifications, supplier selections, and on-site installation with a focus on quality, cost, and schedule.

The role requires 2+ years in automotive/high-volume settings, CAD proficiency (Inventor/AutoCAD/SolidWorks), and strong teamwork and communication across global teams. Fluent in English and German, with up to 30% travel.

Qualifikationen

  • Engineering or technician degree ideally in mechanical, mechatronic or production engineering or comparable qualifications.
  • Minimum 2 years of professional experience in the automotive industry or high-volume production environments.
  • Electrical knowledge preferred.
  • Proven competency in CAD and with engineering tools.
  • Strong MS Office skills and data-driven thinking.

Aufgaben

  • Overall responsibility for assigned series production processes, machinery, and tooling.
  • Create detailed specifications and Statements of Work for manufacturing equipment and tooling.
  • Lead equipment- and tooling-related projects with responsibility for output, timing, and budget, including make-or-buy decisions.
  • Lead supplier selection and manage suppliers from concept and design phase through series production.
  • Coordinate on-site installation, commissioning, acceptance, and handover in plants with Operations and suppliers.

As Manufacturing Engineer Central (m/f/d) you will plan, support, and lead projects with the target to develop, procure and install machines/tooling for series production under consideration of quality, financial, technical and temporal requirements. You will provide manufacturing engineering knowledge to product innovation processes for new product designs and develop new equipment as well as supporting the plants to run the current machinery in the best way.

The position will be based in our EMEA Headquarters location in Hannover, Germany.

What you will do

As Manufacturing Engineer Central (m/f/d), your responsibilities will include:

  • Overall responsibility for assigned series production processes, machinery, and tooling across the organization
  • Creating and defining detailed specifications and Statements of Work (SOW) for manufacturing equipment and tooling
  • Leading equipment- and tooling-related projects with full responsibility for output, timing, and budget, including: Driving make-or-buy decisions in close collaboration with key stakeholders.
  • Leading supplier selection and managing suppliers from concept and design phase through series production
  • Coordinating on-site installation, commissioning, acceptance, and handover in the plants in cooperation with Operations and suppliers
  • Ensuring complete and compliant documentation of machinery, including CE-related documentation, CAD data, electrical schematics, and administrative records in the ME database
  • Developing and optimizing assigned processes, machinery, and tooling to support new product introductions, quality improvements, performance enhancements, and maintenance requirements, including design and process validation builds
  • Supporting production sites in optimization projects for existing machinery, processes, and tooling to improve efficiency, quality, and reliability
  • Defining and implementing global standards for assigned processes, machinery, and tooling in collaboration with global Manufacturing Engineering counterparts
  • Report and collaborate related to professional and project subjects to key stakeholders as other ME regions, Operations, Product Engineering, Quality, Process Engineering, Program Management, Purchasing, Logistics
  • Represent related topics in multi-functional project teams
  • Manufacture feasibility analysis (DFA/DFM) and PFMEAs
What makes you a good fit
  • Engineering or technician degree ideally in mechanical, mechatronic or production engineering or comparable qualifications
  • Minimum 2 years of professional experience in the automotive industry or high-volume production environments
  • Electrical knowledge preferred
  • Proven competency in Project Management
  • Excellent communication skills as well as a hands-on mentality
  • Ability to build strong working relationship and communicate on various levels in an international environment, from work floor to upper management and non-technical stakeholders
  • Proven competency in working with CAD (Autodesk Inventor, AutoCAD or SolidWorks)
  • A sense and awareness for product quality
  • Knowledge of CE regulations is a plus
  • Good working proficiency in Microsoft Office
  • Advanced English and German language skills, both written and spoken; additional languages are an advantage
  • Willingness to travel (up to 30%)
