Vinted Group in Berlin is seeking a Manager of Data Science & Analytics, Payments Intelligence to lead a cross-functional analytics team spanning Data, Engineering, Product and Finance. You’ll shape data products and drive rapid, data‑driven decisions across the Payments organisation.

Reporting to the Director of Data Science & Analytics, Payments BU, you’ll mentor Analytics Engineers, Data Scientists and Decision Scientists while navigating a fast-paced, growth‑minded fintech environment.

Information about the position

As a Manager of Data Science & Analytics, Payments Intelligence you will report directly to the Director of Data Science & Analytics, Payments BU and will be leading an analytics-focused team. Payments Intelligence team supports all Payments Business Unit across different domains: it serves as a Data Science and Analytics Engineering hub, a technical centre of excellence and the last line of support when domains need it. You will have to collaborate closely with Engineering, Product, Data, Design, Business, Compliance and Finance stakeholders across the Payments organisation. You will be the direct manager of Analytics Engineers, Data Scientists and Decision Scientists

Payments are set out to create a global, revenue-generating, multi-service financial platform that will accelerate Vinted’s mission of making secondhand the first choice and you will play a key role in shaping it. Currently Payments is an ambitious, quickly growing business area, which brings its own challenges and opportunities. In this position, you’ll

• Lead an analytics-focused team composed of a mix of roles by setting clear direction, supporting individual growth, and creating an environment where people can do high quality work autonomously
• Ensure that we build scalable data-products efficiently
• Ensure that we make data-driven decisions quickly and to a high quality
• Closely collaborate with Product, Engineering, Business, Compliance and Finance stakeholders towards the outcomes that are best for the Vinted Group
• Support your team beyond when needed by helping navigate ambiguity, unblocking ad hoc issues, and stepping in where your leadership adds the most value

About you

• You’ve worked with payments or fintech previously (2+ years of experience in a large fintech strongly preferred)
• You have experience leading and growing a domain or a complex team
• You have a strong applied background in data, including previous hands‑on experience and relevant education (STEM degree or equivalent)
• You can see the big picture, identify systemic patterns, propose systemic solutions and drive their implementation
• You understand modern data approaches, you know how to balance experimentation, modelling quality, delivery speed, and long-term maintainability
• You bring strong technical, product and business judgment, and can connect technical decisions to the company goals
• You communicate clearly and can explain complex ideas in a simple, pragmatic, and persuasive way
• You’re hands‑on enough to challenge assumptions, review work, and guide technical direction when needed
• You can effectively collaborate with senior stakeholders across different functions

Workation policy

Better balance holidays with workdays by working remotely! Up to 90 days per year in the EU, of these, 21 days can be spent globally. For non-EU citizens, it's 21 days worldwide. This can be combined with time off for vacation or personal time.
