Airbus Operations GmbH in Hamburg is seeking a Loads & Aeroelastic Engineer to join the Manoeuvre Loads Team. You will work on manoeuvre loads calculations across the aircraft design life cycle, delivering data for certification and in-service support.
You will apply aeroelastic modelling techniques, explore new configuration assessments, and contribute to model-based system engineering, automation, and ML initiatives. English proficiency is essential; German is a plus.
Airbus pioneers sustainable aerospace for a safe and united world. The Company constantly innovates to provide efficient and technologically-advanced solutions in aerospace, defence, and connected services. In commercial aircraft, Airbus offers modern and fuel-efficient airliners and associated services. In helicopters, Airbus provides the most efficient civil and military rotorcraft solutions and services worldwide.
In order to support Manoeuvre Loads Team in Hamburg, Airbus is looking for a Loads & Aeroelastic Engineer (d/f/m).
As Loads & Aeroelastic Engineer (d/f/m) we are at the heart of aircraft design and deal as part of the engineering organisation with the key flight sciences.
In the Manoeuvre Loads Team in Hamburg we perform load calculations covering our fleet from a very early design stage until certification and finally during airline operations. We are responsible for build model activities such as aerodynamics modelling for the manoeuvre loads models and integrating model bricks. We subsequently perform manoeuvre loads calculation and provide the loads data to our component loads colleagues. In addition to this, the team is strongly involved in performing loads in-service support, research and technology aspects with new aircraft configuration assessments, new services, model based system engineering, automation, and machine learning.
Having the transverse view of the whole aircraft, our main mission is to deliver suitable aircraft design and configuration for optimum performance. As such we are fully part of the current and future challenges in designing a safe aircraft meeting the highest sustainability and operational standards.
We are present throughout the full aircraft life-cycle: supporting sales campaigns from early definition phase through the core design phase and onwards into supporting manufacture, flight testing and the aircraft in service. By this we ensure the best-operational and safe use of the aircraft and create value for our customers.
We are aeronautical engineers, developers and innovators. We make use of cutting edge technologies in our tools as digital enablers are key to ensure our success.
You will be working at the largest production site for civil aircraft situated in Hamburg. Its location on the southern banks of the river Elbe includes the option to commute by ferry. Experience the special flair of Hamburg in your spare time where vibrant cosmopolitan culture meets nautic legacy.
You will perform manoeuvre loads calculations covering our fleet from a very early design stage until certification taking into consideration the certification requirements and the A/C specificities such as aerodynamic loads & flight control design.
You will support research and technology aspects with new aircraft configuration assessments, new services, model based system engineering, automation, and machine learning.
You would also support airlines through Airbus Customer Services by carrying out L&A analyses of in-service events:
You have a Master degree in the STEM field (Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics), preferably having focussed on aircraft design.
You are curious and interested in developing new methodologies, driving improvements and shaping the future of aeronautical engineering.
Your positivity and motivation enthuses your team. You are willing to master your responsibilities in an empowered environment.
Your English is at a negotiating level whereas German language skills would be a plus.
Not a 100% match? No worries! Airbus supports your personal growth with customized development solutions.
This job requires an awareness of any potential compliance risks and a commitment to act with integrity, as the foundation for the Company’s success, reputation and sustainable growth.
