TEKsystems is seeking an experienced Infrastructure Engineer in Rochester, NY for a contract-to-hire engagement. The role focuses on leading analysis, designing solutions, and deploying both on-premise and cloud-based infrastructure.

The candidate will manage virtualization, monitoring, automation, and cross-vendor integration to ensure a stable, scalable environment. The position requires intermediate experience with Linux, VMware, and related tools, and offers a hybrid work arrangement in

• Manages and administers on-premise and cloud-based infrastructure services including virtual infrastructure, operating systems, storage, maintenance and security patching, backup and disaster recovery preparedness, orchestration and automation and performance monitoring.
• Scripts, code and development are required to deliver solutions within both cloud and on premise solutions.
• Responsible fordesign, setup and maintenance of a continuous infrastructure integration stack, including source control,build servers, automated testing, automated monitoring and solution deployment.

Description

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS - Leads analysis of use case requirements, designs solutions, and deploys onpremise or cloud based infrastructure. Provides expertise in on-premise virtual infrastructure, specifically inclustered high availability environments. Provides assistance in integrating on-premise solutions with cloudsolutions. Orchestrates and automates the deployment of solutions hosted on both cloud services and onpremise infrastructure. - Leads, advises on and completes proactive performance monitoring, analysis,alerting, reporting and tuning, proactive capacity analysis and provision solutions, maintenance activities,including deploying patches and ensuring that firmware and software are up to date, incident and problemanalysis, resolution, and follow-up to ensure platform stability. - Maintains an interoperability matrix toensure cross-vendor compatibility. Creates, reviews, and maintains technical documentation, includingsolution designs and reference guides. Leads discussions of new products and services to enhance thedelivery of infrastructure services; engages vendors as appropriate. Prepares necessary paperwork anddocumentation to ensure conformance to University standards and procedures. - Leads, advises on andcompletes implementation and maintenance activities during business hours, as well as outside of businesshours. Provides 24-hour on-call support when scheduled. Serves as a technical escalation point to othersserving in on-call roles. - Maintains a broad knowledge of technology, equipment, and/or systems. - Otherduties as assigned.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $40.00 - $50.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
