Job summary

BLP Digital AG is hiring its first in-house lawyer to build and lead the legal function. You will cover Switzerland, Germany, the UK and the US, with 40+ countries in scope, and work closely with CFO, Sales, Finance and Product. You will shape contract playbooks, data protection, and AI compliance from day one.

You will negotiate enterprise SaaS contracts, lead GDPR/AI regulation efforts, and manage corporate housekeeping across multiple entities while guiding employment law and IP strategy.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of legal experience, including at least 3 years in-house at a B2B SaaS or tech company, ideally after training at a leading law firm.
• Admitted to the bar in Switzerland or another European jurisdiction and able to advise on Swiss, EU, UK and US matters with external support.
• Negotiated enterprise SaaS contracts with large corporate customers on favorable terms for the business.
• Hands-on GDPR and data protection experience and familiarity with the EU AI Act.
• Built a template library, contract process, or legal function from zero, and comfortable being the sole in-house lawyer.
• Fluent English and German language; pragmatic, commercial advice delivered clearly at speed.

• Run corporate housekeeping for BLP Digital AG and subsidiaries in Germany, the UK and the US: board and shareholder matters and cap table.
• Advise on employment law across countries and protect IP and trademarks with People team on contracts and equity plans.
• Select and manage external counsel, deciding what stays in-house.

About the role

You are BLP's first in-house lawyer. You build the legal function from scratch and protect a business that puts agentic AI into the ERP processes of 550+ enterprise customers. You report to the CFO and partner closely with Sales, Finance, People and Product, covering four entities in Switzerland, Germany, the UK and the US, with customers in 40+ countries. In your first 12 months, Sales runs on your contract playbook and standard templates, and BLP has a clear compliance framework for data protection and AI regulation.

What you'll do

• Own commercial contracting end-to-end: negotiate customer MSAs, DPAs and SLAs with enterprise procurement and legal teams, so deals close faster with risk you can explain to the CFO.
• Build the legal toolkit: templates, a negotiation playbook with fallback positions and clear approval rules, so Sales can handle standard deals without escalating to you.
• Lead data protection and AI compliance across GDPR, the Swiss FADP and the EU AI Act, and support security reviews and certifications, so enterprise customers trust how we handle their data.
• Run corporate housekeeping for BLP Digital AG and its subsidiaries in Germany, the UK and the US: board and shareholder matters and cap table
• Advise on employment law across our countries and protect our IP and trademarks, working with the People team on contracts, policies and equity plans.
• Select and manage external counsel, deciding what stays in-house and what goes out.

What you'll bring

• You bring 7+ years of legal experience, including at least 3 years in-house at a B2B SaaS or tech company, ideally after training at a leading law firm.
• You are admitted to the bar in Switzerland or another European jurisdiction and are comfortable advising on Swiss, EU, UK and US matters with appropriate external support.
• You have personally negotiated enterprise SaaS contracts with large corporate customers and closed them on terms the business could live with.
• You have hands‑on GDPR and data protection experience and follow the EU AI Act closely.
• You have built something from zero before: a template library, a contract process or a legal function, and you are happy to be the only lawyer in the room.
• You are pragmatic and commercial in your approach. You give clear, risk‑weighted advice in plain language, at the speed of a fast‑growing company, in fluent English and German language.

Strong plus

• Experience with venture financing rounds, ESOP setups and/or M&A.
• Background in ERP, finance automation or AI products.
• Experience with ISO 27001 or SOC 2 audits from the legal side.
