Zusammenfassung

Jobtailor is seeking a Mechanical Engineering professional to lead a team of field engineers and technicians in Germany (Berlin) for on-site assembly, maintenance and pre-commissioning work at customer sites and workshops. You will supervise mechanical and electrical testing, update technical documentation, plan projects, and manage tools, spare parts and reports.

• Graduate-level mechanical engineering expertise or equivalent experience.
• Significant experience in mechanical/electrical maintenance and team supervision.
• Experience in Live HV environments preferred.
• Strong leadership and interpersonal skills; safety-focused.

Aufgaben

• Lead and supervise field engineers and technicians on-site or in workshops.
• Carry out assembly, repair, and maintenance, including pre-commissioning.
• Lead mechanical work and electrical testing on site.
• Update technical documentation related to site activities.
• Plan projects, manage tools, equipment, spare parts, and documentation.
• Report daily progress using Smartsheet and charts.
• Monitor quality and traceability, including NCRs and quality plans.
• Handle administrative tasks and close-out reporting.
• Uphold GE EHS policies and safety culture.
• Maintain Valve Delivery Project Plan and participate in reviews.
• Contribute to risk registers and KPI tracking for on-time delivery.
• Lead handling of non-conformities with action plans.
• Participate in Valve Engineering Gate Reviews and Design Reviews when required.
• Perform pipe fitting, mechanical build, busbar jointing, pressure and flow tests.

Responsibilities

• Lead/Supervise team of field engineers/technicians in the field and carry out assembly, repair and maintenance, pre-commissioning work on-site at customers' sites, or in workshops/test facilities.
• Lead mechanical work and electrical testing work done on site.
• Participate in the work of updating technical documentation related to the site activities.
• Plan for the projects and prepare the works (tools & equipment, spare parts, documentation).
• Report on the progress of work (Daily reporting, Smartsheet management, progress charts and documentation).
• Carry out quality monitoring and traceability of works (NCR’s, reports, Quality plans, etc).
• Perform all the administrative tasks related to the position and to the various missions entrusted to the role (Close out reporting, lessons learnt etc).
• Ensure the security and strengthen the EHS culture of all stakeholders under their responsibility in accordance with GE lifesaving principles and GE EHS policies.
• Maintain the Valve Delivery Project Plan.
• Participate in the review of detailed Valve Project Smartsheet Plan derived from the main Project Delivery P6 plan.
• Participate in the Valve Risk Register to elevate high risks to the project team.
• Participate in the review of planned hours, Cost-To-Completion hours vs Budgeted hours.
• Accountability on the On-Time-Delivery and say-do ratio KPIs for the project.
• Lead Non-Conformities in relation to valve site activities, with action plan in place and accountability to close them.
• Participate in Valve Engineering Gate Reviews and Engineering Design Reviews and when required at customer sites and with GE partners.
• Tasks include: Pipe fitting, mechanical build, busbar jointing, laying and checking, pressure tests, flow tests, knowledge of cooling plant, performing electrical checks and tests, etc.

Requirements

• Mechanical engineering expertise at graduate level (ideally master degree) or equivalent experience.
• Significant experience in mechanical/electrical (maintenance field) and team supervision preferably experienced in working in Live HV environments.
• Strong interpersonal and leadership skills.
• Good knowledge of safety and the environment.
• Willing and able to frequently travel globally (including offshore/sea platforms) for extended periods of time, often at short notice.
