Zusammenfassung

EPAM Systems is seeking an experienced backend engineer to lead the design and delivery of a resilient indexing pipeline. You will build scalable PHP services for the search platform and define Elasticsearch best practices, mappings, and monitoring.

Responsibilities include owning data synchronization challenges, optimizing SQL performance, and guiding teammates in engineering best practices. You will participate in on-call rotations to resolve production issues and ensure system reliability.

Qualifikationen

• 5+ years of professional software development experience.
• 5+ years of hands-on PHP development experience.
• Strong experience with a strongly typed backend language such as Go, Java, or Scala.
• Proven leadership experience driving design and delivery of complex resilient systems.
• Strong project ownership skills for data synchronization and system load.
• Advanced Elasticsearch skills including query optimization and index management.
• Strong SQL performance skills across queries, indexes, and schemas.
• Proven distributed messaging experience with RabbitMQ or Kafka.
• Strong communication skills to explain complex concepts.
• High initiative and drive to identify risks and deliver solutions.
• Growth mindset and willingness to learn and adapt.
• English proficiency: B2 Upper-Intermediate.
