Zusammenfassung

Rivian is seeking a Lead Engineering Technician in Germany to support the Test & Development and Autonomy Validation teams. You will use tooling to perform mechanical and electrical repairs/modifications, work with engineering teams to support testing needs, and maintain a safe, organized workspace.

The role requires 5+ years in automotive technician/machine environments, strong EV understanding, HV knowledge, and the ability to travel up to 50%.

Qualifikationen

• 5+ years of technician / mechanic work experience in the automotive industry.
• Electric/hybrid vehicle experience preferred
• Valid driver license with clean record
• Advanced driver training preferred
• Strong automotive electrical understanding
• High Voltage electrical knowledge and training
• CAN/LIN network understanding
• Minor fabrication experience
• A Meister certificate (or an equivalent qualification / relevant technical background) is strongly preferred

Aufgaben

• Facilitate cross functional responsibilities based on work load and knowledge base of peers
• Instruct technicians on proper diagnostic and repair methodologies
• Maintain a high level of communication with engineering stakeholders pertaining to work-loads, personnel and equipment issues and needs.
• Perform diagnosis and repair of prototype vehicle’s electrical/mechanical/software
• Fabricate and/or modify existing prototype components/fixtures
• Maintain detailed records of all work performed
• Maintain test equipment in operational condition by performing routine maintenance and making minor repairs/adjustments as needed
• Install instrumentation, test equipment, and other components on prototype vehicles in accordance with engineering specifications, standards, and/or test procedures
• Communicate directly with engineers and other technicians to ensure a high level of technical support
• Load and transport prototype vehicles to specified test locations as needed.
• Test drive vehicles on closed tracks
• Travel 50%
