Zusammenfassung

Kirby Group Engineering is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer to lead electrical design activities on a major construction project in Germany. You will coordinate technical design with on-site installation and commissioning to deliver a compliant, safe electrical system.

The role requires 7+ years in project engineering within construction, strong MV/LV experience, and proficiency with design tools such as Amtech, Dialux, AutoCAD 2D and MS Office.

Qualifikationen

  • 3rd level qualification in Electrical Engineering / Building Services Engineering.
  • Experience with LV and MV systems in building services and data centre environments.
  • Knowledge of Design Guides, Codes of Practice, ETCI/BS7671 Regulations, Building Regulations, EN Standards and IEC Standards.
  • Experience using Amtech, Dialux, Adobe Pro, AutoCAD 2D and MS Office.
  • Experience interacting with clients, vendors and contractors.
  • 7+ years of project engineering experience in a construction environment.
  • Experience delivering electrical projects (commercial, industrial, pharma, data centre).
  • Strong commercial awareness.
  • Ability to multi-task and manage competing priorities.
  • Excellent communicator and strong administration skills.
  • Mentor and coach to junior engineers.

Aufgaben

  • Complete electrical design review to identify design gaps and deviations in specifications.
  • Validate cable sizing and make recommendations.
  • Ensure technical assessments are completed and issues resolved without delay.
  • Compile and issue electrical technical submittals.
  • Manage submittals through approvals and track procurement and delivery.
  • Attend supply chain meetings to monitor progress within the construction programme.
  • Update system trackers aligned with construction schedule.
  • Review installation with BIM team to ensure constructibility and access space.
  • Liaise with design team and supply chain for handover readiness.
  • Conduct electrical system walk-downs to ensure compliance.
  • Compile test packs, FTOPs and O&Ms for approval.
  • Manage specialist vendors during commissioning.
  • Provide training in line with plan.
  • Lead Engineering Design and Design Management tasks on projects.

Role Purpose

As Senior Electrical Engineer based in Germany you will be responsible for the engineering activities on a specific construction project. The activities associated with the project will vary and will be agreed with the Project Manager on an ongoing basis. You will co‑ordinate the technical design with the onsite installation through to the successful commissioning ensuring that the Kirby Group vision, mission & values are fulfilled.

Senior Electrical Engineer Responsibilities
  • Complete electrical design review to identify design gaps and deviations or contradictions in the specifications.
  • Validate cable sizing and make recommendations as appropriate.
  • Ensure that technical assessments are completed as required and technical issues are resolved without delay.
  • Compile and issue electrical technical submittals.
  • Manage submittals through the approvals process, track procurement and delivery of electrical equipment and complete the receipt verification process once the equipment is delivered.
  • Attend & record regular supply chain meetings to ensure that progress is monitored & maintained within the overall construction programme.
  • Update and record progress on system trackers which are fully aligned with the construction schedule.
  • Review the electrical installation with the BIM team to ensure the design is constructible and that there is adequate space for installation and maintenance of all equipment and cabling.
  • Liaise with the design team & supply chain to ensure correct operation of the plant on site & successful handover.
  • Complete electrical system walk‑downs to ensure systems are compliant with specifications and drawings.
  • Compile test pack, FTOP's and O&Ms and present for approval.
  • Manage specialist vendors during the commissioning process to ensure timely completion of their works.
  • Undertake client training in line with agreed training plan.
  • Lead Engineering Design and Design Management tasks on Projects as part of an integrated project team.
  • Strong technical ability in all aspects of Electrical Engineering Services & Design.
  • Proactive with a strong ability to work independently and without supervision.
  • Design and specification of Electrical Engineering Solutions to current regulations and design standards.
  • Working directly with clients and project engineers to define project requirements and develop technical solutions.
  • Develop and agree design processes and design deliverables.
  • Lead Pre-Construction Engineering activities and the production of information including design development, construction details, services coordination, technical submittals, sub‑contracts, etc.
  • Assist in the continual improvement of the QA System and execute project reviews.
  • Provide technical support to the estimating, procurement, commercial, marketing and project bid teams.
  • Provide off site technical support to construction teams on projects.
Necessary requirement of the Senior Electrical Engineer
  • 3rd level Qualification in Electrical Engineering / Building Services Engineering.
  • Experience with both LV and MV systems primarily in building services and data centre environments.
  • Knowledge & experience of current Design Guides, Codes of Practice, ETCI and or BS7671 Regulations, Building Regulations, EN Standards and IEC Standards, etc.
  • Experience in Amtech, Dialux, Adobe Pro, Autodesk AutoCAD 2D and MS Office Suite Software.
  • Experience of client, vendor & contractor interaction & management.
  • Significant Project engineering experience of 7 years+ ideally in a construction environment.
  • Previous record of delivering Electrical projects (Commercial, Industrial, pharma, data centre type projects).
  • Commercial Awareness.
  • Capability of walking down electrical systems to ensure compliance with specification.
  • Experience developing technical submittals, completing technical reviews and assessments.
  • Knowledge of Health, Safety and Environmental systems and procedures – knowledge of the team, their strengths and weaknesses.
  • The ability to multi-task and manage many priorities.
  • Excellent communicator/strong interpersonal skills/communicates with impact.
  • Excellent record keeper and administration skills.
  • Leads and influences others.
  • Innovates and leads in electrical/technical activity and challenges.
