Job summary

Ai Futures is seeking a hands-on Lead Data Architect in Berlin to own the data architecture and platform underpinning an AI-powered enterprise product. You will turn complex data into reliable, scalable data products and analytics, working directly with customer IT teams for secure integrations.

The role demands strong Python/SQL, data modelling and multi-tenant design expertise, with pragmatic architectural judgement in a fast-moving startup. German language skills are a plus; English helpful.

Qualifications

• Production-grade data systems knowledge with ownership of architecture and implementation.
• Strong Python and SQL skills with data modelling and query optimisation.
• Experience designing multi-tenant architectures with data isolation and access controls.
• Experience integrating enterprise systems with schemas, APIs, permissions and data sync.
• Experience building data pipelines, ingestion and orchestration for analytical workloads.
• Ability to make pragmatic architectural decisions in a fast-moving environment.
• Desirable: background in B2B SaaS or data-intensive products; German + English a bonus.

Lead Data Architect | AI-Native Startup | Berlin

AI Futures has been exclusively retained to hire a hands-on Lead Data Architect for a well-funded, early-stage AI startup based in Berlin.

This is a high-impact opportunity to take ownership of the data architecture and infrastructure underpinning an enterprise AI platform, turning complex and inconsistent enterprise data into reliable, scalable data products and analytical capabilities.

Location: Berlin

Remuneration: Up to €120k package + VSOP

The Role

• Own and develop the company's core data architecture, platform and infrastructure
• Design scalable multi-tenant systems with robust data isolation, access controls and security
• Build ingestion, transformation and orchestration pipelines for complex enterprise data
• Turn messy and inconsistent enterprise data into reliable, structured and analytical datasets
• Build integrations with ERP systems, APIs and external enterprise platforms, working directly with customer IT teams
• Own data modelling, analytical capabilities, monitoring, recovery and platform performance
• Set technical direction while remaining hands-on and using modern AI engineering tools to accelerate development

The Candidate

• Significant experience building and operating production-grade data systems, with ownership of architecture and implementation
• Strong Python and SQL skills with excellent data modelling and query optimisation capabilities
• Proven experience designing multi-tenant architectures, data isolation and access control
• Experience integrating enterprise systems and working with schemas, APIs, permissions and data synchronisation
• Strong understanding of data pipelines, ingestion, orchestration and analytical workloads
• Senior technical judgement with the ability to make pragmatic architectural decisions in a fast-moving environment
• Experience in B2B SaaS, enterprise software or data-intensive products is highly desirable
• Languages: German (English a bonus)
