The Lead Buyer plays a dual role for the Purchasing of Mill Operations & Recycling Services (MORS):
Local and transversal approaches are combined by the definition of the Annual Project Portfolio build by the Lead Buyer for his hub in close cooperation with the Subcategory Management and other Lead Buyers.
The Lead Buyer ensures that all requirements of his/her hub for the subcategory are fulfilled by his/her Buyers in due time with the best solution (Alpha role). The Lead Buyer also monitors key steps of projects conducted in other hubs for the specific activity he/she oversees (Beta role).

The mission of the Europe Metallics Purchasing organisation is the procurement of ferrous metallic scraps, including HBI (Hot Briquetted Iron), DRI (Direct Reduced Iron), Pig Iron, Beach Iron, Skulls and billets (which are part of a broader and more comprehensive list).
As a part of ArcelorMittal Europe Long Products, our operational scope is extended within ArcelorMittal Europe Flat Products' s perimeter as well.
Our expert buyers supply the internal customers, the so called “users”, by providing efficient and reliable services and support, ensuring full compliance with the European and regional standards and regulations.
