IPS is seeking a Lead Architect for our Frankfurt, Germany office to lead the Architecture Group in delivering complex Life Sciences facilities. You will oversee technical discipline, coordinate multi-disciplinary teams, and ensure designs meet GMP and regulatory standards.

You will mentor staff, review drawings, manage proposals, and ensure on-time delivery while upholding IPS quality and safety requirements. German fluency is required.

Qualifikationen

• 10+ years of diversified architectural experience with 8+ years in supervisory roles.
• Bachelor's Degree in Architecture; NAAB accreditation.
• Architectural Registration and licensure.
• 8+ years in Life Sciences industry experience.
• Expertise in process/mechanical/structural/civil/electrical/plumbing and fire protection design.
• Familiarity with BIM workflows and building codes.
• GMP cleanroom design experience.
• Fluent in German.

At IPS, you will apply your knowledge, skills, and passion to make a difference in the lives of people by solving complex challenges related to pharmaceutical, biotech, and animal health research and manufacturing facilities. We are looking for a dedicated Lead Architect to join our talented team at our office in Frankfurt, Germany.

In this role, you will provide leadership of technical discipline and direct the day-to-day operational activities of any assigned Architecture Group staff.

Additional Responsibilities

• Ensures the quality, accuracy, and completeness of overall work as to engineering, compliant with established IPS standards, procedures, codes, and ordinances.
• Responsible individual for quality of unit output related to adherence to stated project goals as well as legal and IPS guidelines and efficiency.
• Contributes technical input and oversees technical output of department and/or assigned group staff to assure compliance with legal, regulatory, and IPS project requirements.
• Protects IPS corporate welfare through the application of prudent judgment and implementation of risk management techniques while maintaining supervision over all health, safety, and welfare risks associated with the group staff projects.
• Develops and assures implementation of standards and tools to ensure department output meets or exceeds established quality and performance expectations.
• Prepares proposals for service and supports preparation of proposals by others.
• Ensures project specifications are delivered with company quality standards and are delivered on time as required by the client.
• Assesses the requirements of a project, breaks a project into tasks, and works with a Project Manager to determine the scope of work, budget, and staffing.
• Reviews drawings and documents to ensure compliance with company, regulatory agencies, and production standards.
• Provides oversight for architectural construction administration activities such as preparing bulletins, construction sketches, submittal review, and RFI responses.
• Ensures acceptable levels of quality and checks for coordination of work to ensure documents reflect design intent and necessary coordination.
• Assists the design team with design solutions by having the ability to interpret drawing mark-ups and executes changes on the project based on such mark-ups.
• Reviews contractor applications for payments.

Qualifications & Requirements

• 10+ years of diversified architectural experience, at least 8 years of which have been in a supervisory or management capacity consisting of planning, designing, and construction of engineering projects.
• Bachelor's Degree; Bachelor of Architecture (B.Arch.) degree with NAAB Accreditation.
• Architectural Registration.
• 8+ years of Life Sciences Industry experience.
• Exceptional experience and knowledge of process, mechanical, structural, civil, electrical, plumbing, and fire protection system design, and knowledge of how these systems integrate into architectural design.
• Possess a general understanding of BIM workflows.
• Knows applicable building codes.
• Has comprehensive knowledge of building design, including both building and GMP cleanroom compliance experience.
• Fluent in German.

Preferred Qualifications

• AIA/NCARB Membership/Accreditation.

Travel duration, if any, is based on project complexity and location. This position is a safety-sensitive position. The employee is designated for fieldwork and attends activities at client sites where they work in construction, processing, packaging, manufacturing, research, or other "non-administrative" areas.

All interviews are conducted either in person or virtually, with video required.
