Zusammenfassung

Empower Germany is seeking a senior financial reporting professional to oversee U.S. statutory NAIC reporting, U.S. GAAP, Canadian GAAP, and regulatory disclosures for the company’s investment portfolios across subsidiaries.

You will coordinate quarterly and annual reporting, assist audits, research new pronouncements, and ensure accurate presentation of numbers while supporting process improvements and audit readiness.

Qualifikationen

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting required.
  • 5–7 years of financial reporting experience required.
  • Proficient with MS Office and reporting systems (Blackline, SAP, etc.).

Aufgaben

  • Prepare and review quarterly/annual NAIC statutory reporting and surveys.
  • Coordinate investment disclosures in financial statements quarterly.
  • Ensure consistency of financial statements and board reports.
  • Research new disclosures and modifications in response to pronouncements.
  • Interpret pronouncements for U.S. Statutory/GAAP or regulations.
  • Assist with audits for Investments and explain the company’s position.
  • Monitor and adjust the reporting database as needed.
  • Support new process and project implementations.
  • Reconcile ledger balances across systems.

Responsible for overseeing and reviewing U.S. Statutory (NAIC – National Association of Insurance Commissioners) and U.S. GAAP, Canadian GAAP, regulatory, tax and/or Board financial reporting for investment portfolios of the Insurance Company, subsidiaries and affiliates. Requires a thorough understanding of accounting pronouncements and appropriate application to the investment portfolio. Responsible for various related compliance testing and reporting.

What you will do:
  • Responsible for the preparation and review of the quarterly/annual statutory NAIC state financial reporting, supplements, annual audited financial statements and surveys.
  • Coordinate investment presentation in the financial statements on a quarterly basis.
  • Ensure consistency in the financial statements, board reports and information provided to analysts.
  • Research and propose new disclosures and modifications to reports in response to new pronouncements and guidelines.
  • Determine appropriate disclosures related to new investment types.
  • Interpret new pronouncements and guidelines issued by authoritative associations in relation to U.S. Statutory, U.S. GAAP, or various regulations.
  • Recommend appropriate changes to accounting systems and presentation of information
  • Responsible for coordinating audits for Investments and explaining Company’s position.
  • Responsible for monitoring the reporting database and making adjustments where necessary
  • Assist with new process and project implementation.
  • For Insurance Company, subsidiaries and affiliates, ensuring a proper audit trail of financial statements numbers.
  • Analyze and interpret financial results.
  • Prepare audit documents upon request.
  • Explain reports and position to auditors as necessary.
  • Respond to ad-hoc reporting requests requiring interpretation of requests, professional formatting and explanation of results.
  • Reconcile and research ledger balances for accuracy between multiple systems.

What you will bring:
  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting
  • 5-7 years of financial reporting experience required.
  • Advanced MS Office Skills (Excel, Access and PowerPoint)
  • Understanding of various reporting systems (Blackline, EASY, SAP, PAM, Phoenix, Unit Value Cloud)

Base Salary Range

$100,900.00 - $142,525.00

The salary range above shows the typical minimum to maximum base salary range for this position in the location listed. Non-sales positions have the opportunity to participate in a bonus program. Sales positions are eligible for sales incentives, and in some instances a bonus plan, whereby total compensation may far exceed base salary depending on individual performance. Actual compensation offered may vary from posted hiring range based upon geographic location, work experience, education, licensure requirements and/or skill level and will be finalized at the time of offer.
