# Casting – Lead Actor/Vocalist for a Berlin-Based Contemporary Music Theatre Project

We are looking for a **lead actor/vocalist** to join a new contemporary music theatre project currently being developed in Berlin.

About the Project

The project is inspired by a Korean classical novel and brings its story into present-day Berlin.

The world of the original story intersects with the lives of people in Berlin today, exploring questions of belonging and exclusion, the individual and the community, and the relationship between one person and many.

The production is being developed as an interdisciplinary music theatre work combining acting, live music and vocals with movement, analogue shadow theatre and media.

Who We Are Looking For

We are looking for an **actor with strong acting and vocal skills** for a central role in the production.

The role moves between character and narrator, using both acting and singing to carry the story.

We are particularly looking for someone with:

• Professional acting experience
• Strong vocal skills and experience performing live
• An interest in music theatre or work combining acting and music
• Confidence with movement and physical expression
• An interest in developing a new work collaboratively with artists from different disciplines
• Experience in dance or physical performance is welcome, but you do not need to be a professional dancer.

Working Process

The project is based on a collaborative development process rather than simply rehearsing a fully completed script and score.

We are therefore looking for an actor who is interested in bringing their own acting and musical experience into the creative process and developing the work together with the artistic team.
