Syneos Health, Inc. in Germany is seeking a Field-based Key Account Manager to drive relationships with haematologists and oncologists, develop territory plans, and secure patient access for innovative haematology and oncology therapies.

Joining a seven-person KAM team, you will receive comprehensive scientific and product training before deployment and work across Commercial, Medical Affairs and Market Access to deliver sustainable commercial success.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Life Sciences, Business or related field.
  • Significant pharmaceutical sales experience within specialty care.
  • Proven key account management and territory execution.
  • Ability to engage office-based and hospital-based stakeholders.
  • Strong business acumen and ability to translate clinical data into discussions.

In this field-based role, you will build strong partnerships with haematologists, oncologists and other relevant healthcare stakeholders, develop territory and account plans, and drive customer engagement primarily through high-quality face-to-face interactions, complemented by appropriate digital channels.

You will join a newly established team of seven Key Account Managers and work in close partnership with the client’s existing field organization. You will collaborate across Commercial, Medical Affairs and Market Access to improve patient access and support sustainable commercial success.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and execute territory business plans aligned with brand objectives
  • Build sustainable relationships with office-based and hospital-based haematologists, oncologists and other relevant healthcare stakeholders
  • Maintain a strong and consistent field presence across the assigned territory, including travel over larger geographic areas where required
  • Identify business opportunities and develop account-specific strategies based on customer needs, market insights and territory potential
  • Drive product awareness and adoption through scientifically credible, value-based and compliant customer discussions
  • Work in close partnership with the client’s Key Account Managers, coordinating customer engagement, visit frequency, account priorities and follow-up activities across shared accounts
  • Develop and maintain aligned account maps and account plans with client counterparts, ensuring clear responsibilities and consistent customer engagement
  • Collaborate closely with Medical Affairs, Market Access, Commercial and other relevant cross-functional stakeholders
  • Use face-to-face and appropriate digital channels to optimize customer engagement while maintaining a clear field-based focus
  • Maintain complete, accurate and timely CRM documentation to enable coordinated customer planning, transparent activity tracking and reliable reporting
  • Demonstrate the highest standards of integrity in activity reporting, customer documentation and all external interactions
  • Analyze market trends, customer dynamics and competitive activities and translate insights into practical territory actions
  • Contribute actively to team exchanges, business reviews, forecasting and strategic planning activities
  • Support customer meetings, congresses and events, including occasional activities outside standard business hours
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Life Sciences, Business, Healthcare or a related discipline, or an equivalent qualification
  • Significant pharmaceutical sales experience within specialty care, ideally in haematology and/or oncology
  • Demonstrated success in key account management, stakeholder engagement and structured territory execution
  • Experience engaging office-based specialists as well as hospital-based stakeholders
  • Strong business acumen and the ability to develop and execute territory and account strategies
  • Ability to critically review and interpret clinical studies and scientific abstracts, including English-language source material, and translate findings into clear, relevant and compliant customer discussions
  • High level of intrinsic motivation, drive and personal accountability, with the flexibility to thrive in a fast-evolving commercial environment
  • Strong learning agility and the ability to absorb and apply complex scientific and clinical information quickly
  • Proactive networking skills and the ability to establish new customer relationships and expand access within challenging accounts
  • Consultative and scientifically credible customer-engagement style, with sound judgement and a clear commitment to ethical, patient-focused engagement
  • Structured and disciplined approach to pharmaceutical project execution, planning and follow-through
  • Proven ability to work autonomously while collaborating effectively across teams and organizations
  • Confident user of CRM platforms and Microsoft Office, with strong digital and technical affinity
  • Excellent German verbal and written communication skills and professional English sufficient to understand scientific literature and work effectively in an international organization
  • Willingness to travel extensively within the assigned territory and to attend occasional evening and weekend events
Preferred Experience
  • Direct experience in haematology, haematological malignancies and/or oncology
  • An established network among haematologists and oncologists in the relevant territory
  • Relevant rare-disease or specialty-care experience combined with strong scientific selling capabilities and an established haematology/oncology customer network
  • Product launch, relaunch or indication-expansion experience
  • Experience working within complex healthcare systems, shared-account structures or integrated field-team models
