Overview
To end COPV failure in spaceflight. The benchmark for performance, reliability and cost efficiency. Procurement is mission infrastructure; if our supply chain fails, missions fail. If it performs, we set new standards.
Responsibilities
- Ensure availability: guarantee 98% material availability, eliminate production downtime due to material bottlenecks, coordinate forecasts with engineering and production.
- Increase cost performance: identify and realize savings potential, conduct price and contract negotiations, establish transparent cost breakdowns.
- Manage risks: identify and reduce single‑source risks, actively control delivery times, quality, and capacity, manage escalations with clear, solution‑oriented communication.
- Create structure: establish clear purchasing and approval processes, use and further develop ERP cleanly, reduce manual sources of error.
- Develop suppliers: establish A/B/C classification, conduct regular performance reviews, strengthen partnerships with strategic suppliers.
- Transparency & KPI system: build a procurement dashboard, track OTIF, lead time, and forecast accuracy, report monthly to management.
- Continuous improvement: identify automation potential, challenge and improve processes, experiment, learn, and accelerate execution.
Qualifications
- Ownership: take responsibility, communicate respectfully and clearly, lead independently, remain calm under pressure, and prioritize clearly.
- Education: completed commercial training or degree in business administration, supply chain management, industrial engineering, or an equivalent qualification.
- Professional experience: at least one year of full‑time experience in procurement, logistics, supply chain, or operations in a manufacturing environment.
